We had a great experience with our 3 lovely fireman movers in December! They were professional, fast and very hard working!! Would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

I am neutral with this one . Nice guys but look to struggle with larger moves. Do not use if you have more than 3 bedrooms .They are not equipped . Truck is way too small , they needed a backup truck and threatened to charge extra even after a quote was done in person . Definitely dollar is number one . Not pro experienced movers , took way too long to stack /pack in the truck and get going ....paid by the hour of course . I had to jump in and really help to get them going at a better pace . Damages - yes, file cabinet , bed , picture frame etc...etc... Mess in house - yes , token effort was made but really not enough , damages to walls and floors . Some of this to be expected of course , but I really thought looking at these reviews that Firemen movers would be different and take it to a higher level . Also , I pre-moved almost 1/3 of the house after the quote/visit to help out ,even after that they still didn't hit their quote (hours) and the truck was still way too small . The 2nd emergency truck was full up and I decided to leave items behind to pick up myself after, that's a little bothersome as well. One last note . 4 guys 144 an hour . They charge an extra hour up front before they get there for traveling or something . They also charge for their lunch break etc.. and of course round up all times for charging in their favour . Over all neutral , nice enough guys but not their calling . I think it's strictly about making money , guys were in the truck bragging about how much money they made last week . Neither recommend nor deter , watch the time /money and keep on them to keep it moving if you are going to use them . Prepare yourself for damages and a higher bill . ---------------------------------------------------------------- I had it at 6 but changed it to a 5 after reading the reply . Reasons below . 1) There was no snow storm , anyone living in the GTA knows we haven't had a 'snow storm' yet . 2) There was no pre-mention of 2 trucks, 2 moves or anything like that at any time . 3) I had to pester the Crew Chief to call in for another truck as I felt they were 'way' overloaded , he wanted to go back and forth in between properties ..... in addition .... 4) they were ill equipped with modern , clean and working tools , I had to dig into my toolbox more than once and actually had to drive to get others at another location and return .5) They tied my front door to the Mailbox to hold it open , which is now broken as well. They keep telling me that a second truck is of "NO" cost to me . The Crew Chief mentioned that it is chargeable item . Really who cares , not my issue , if the move is too much they should not take the job . There are more than a couple of repairs to be done , but we can take care of that ourselves (unless we find too many more as we unpack).Yes , still unpacking ..... We have moved a large home 4 times in the last 24 years . We have seen the most damages in this last move. This is about an honest Review for the public. Mine reflects the experience of the day. Others may differ on their day. I honestly hope that Firemen can take this as a learning experience to grow and become better than the rest .

I just wanted to take a chance to clear a few things up with 'Bruce' from Etobicoke. We are sorry you were not happy with your moving experience with Firemen Movers. You mentioned that our truck is not big enough. We sent you a 28' moving truck which is the biggest straight truck on the road. It is a full sized moving truck and it is fully equipped with all of the latest moving equipment required for any small or large size move. I did the quote for your move myself and it was explained that a second trip may be necessary, due to your contents load, as your new home is close by to your old home. On the day of the move our Crew Chief called and said it all wouldn't go in one load, close but not quite. At that time I said I would bring out the 16' truck to finish it off in a timely matter, at NO cost to the client, which I did. When I did the in-home estimate I told 'Bruce' that I estimated the job would take around 8 hours of work time plus we would have to add 1 hour of travel time. The travel time allows us to pay our guys to get to his place in the morning and back to our shop when they are done. We have to pay them for this time and it was clearly communicated to the client. It is also an industry standard. The actual move ended up taking 9.25 hours, partly due to the fact that there was a large snow storm on the day of this client's move. As for rounding up, we charge in increments of 15 minutes so I am not sure how this equates to rounding up. Also, our movers do need to stop for lunch between the origin and the destination as they do not take breaks while at our clients homes. Lastly, if our clients ever have any issues with damage, and unfortunately it does sometimes happen, we at Firemen Movers will always work with them to make sure that repairs are done and everyone walks away feeling like they have been treated fairly. This is always our goal. No damage issues were brought forward to us by 'Bruce'. We do thank you for your feedback as we are always striving to improve our service and we can only do that by listening to our clients. Lorne Babiuk, Firemen Movers.

We used Firemen movers to move our 2 bedroom appartment to a smaller one bedroom and put items in storage. We chose them because they seemed trustworthy and less expensive than some of the name brand movers. Our feedback is: The movers showed up on time, actually a bit early! They were a nice bunch of guys, superfriendly They worked hard, they had to lift some heavy stuff down three flights of stairs. (I honestly don't think I could do it and get out of bed the next day.) They took stuff appart and put it back together (mainly our BBQ) They seemed very trustworthy, and actually we left them to pack the storage on their own. All in all they made a potentially very stressfull endeavor actually enjoyable!

How many dream of saying to the movers:" Here's the key to my old place; here's the key to my new place; we're going away on vacation; pack us up and see you after the move, bye!" We did and it was perfection. Our move arose with inflexible timing, but we also needed to be in another province on the same days, for work combined with vacation. You need complete faith in the integrity and reliability of the packers and movers for that to work. We selected Firemen Movers based largely on their glowing reviews in this forum, and our trust wasn't misplaced. Dianna in the office was a pleasure to deal with. The boss, Lorne, visited our old place to inspect and to collect the keys (and perhaps to check our sanity, since no-one had ever asked them to do an unsupervised move before). All went smoothly; they arrived on time for pick-ups; furniture was placed as per our new floor plan; nothing was lost; nothing was broken. And the kicker was this: one moving crew member was delayed due to a family emergency, so showed up a few hours late. Firemen Movers reduced the invoice for the hours he was absent. We would never have known since we weren't there to supervise. How's that for honesty! I have complete confidence in recommending Firemen Movers in the highest possible terms.

We moved on a day with 40+ humidex and took more than 10 hours. The move was quoted properly and never have I seen six men work so hard under the worst conditions. They managed to move an armoir that they rated as one their top three worst items. No damage. Took few breaks, especially considering the heat. (I sent my husband to a hotel, because he has heart disease and it was too much.) Even at the end of the day, even though they were exhausted they were smiling and joking with us. I've unpack most and no damage. They are a new company and may not be as speedy, but I'll take their hard work, positive attitude and honesty any time! The rest will follow. Thank you.

As an employee of East York Housing Help, one of my responsibilities is to help secure housing and sustain tenancies. In some cases securing the housing is the easy part, the difficult part is actually getting the client packed and moved, due to financial restraints and/or physical limitations. This letter is just to inform you of how Firemen Movers have responded to our call for help, and assisted us with some of the challenging cases in our community. Not long ago we had a client who had to have one of her legs amputated and was collecting Ontario Disability. She at that time, found herself living in a basement apartment and as you can imagine had great accessibility problems. Though we were fortunate enough to find her a great little apartment, which would enhance her life, she had no idea how she would pack, not to mention be able to afford movers. Firemen Movers answered our call for help with an offer to supply all of the moving and packing supplies and to move her at no charge. I recently received a call from the client, she informed me of how much her life has improved and how on Canada Day she was able to watch the fireworks at Ashbridge’s Beach from her rooftop patio. Recently we had a senior client who had lived in the basement of an apartment complex, for the last 25 years. His story was one hard to imagine. It seems that there was a young man living in the same complex who was breaking into our clients’ apartment everyday and destroying his belongings. Our client, being a senior, just didn’t have the strength to fight back anymore; it was a losing battle. After we secured an apartment for this client, we once again asked Firemen Movers if they could help us with the move at a discounted price. The client called me 4 days ago, to inform me that he had moved. He was extremely happy as he informed me that when he asked the men at the end of the move what he owed them, they simply extended their hand for a hand shake. All I can say, is that Firemen Movers have been heaven sent for the people we serve. They are a resource that we will keep tucked away in our back pocket, for our most challenging cases. When we have no where else to turn, these men are there. How lucky are we, and the community at large. Thanks for all of your help, we could never repay you for the changes and differences you are making in our clients lives. Chris and his crew (4 men total) arrived exactly on time and began loading the truck as soon as they arrived. It was a soggy, rainy day, but they covered the floors with runners and were able to keep most of the mess contained (some was inevitable). They disassembled our larger pieces of furniture and wrapped all pieces for protection. They provided wardrobe boxes so we didn't have to pre-pack the clothes in our closets. They also were fine with us leaving clothes in our dressers, so they didn't have to be packed either (taking up valuable space in the truck). Once the truck was being loaded, we realized we were going to be tight on space, so they stationed one of the movers in the truck to reorganize and ensure that everything would fit. It did... just. We had to pay for the movers to wait while we got our key, but we expected this since we were closing on both houses the same day. It was unfortunate, but we planned for it. The unloading was fairly quick and we saved a little bit of time by having them just leave a lot of boxes and furniture in the middle of the rooms. We took care of locating and reassembling items ourselves. The quote we received was based solely on time and the size of the truck. We were billed for the exact time used and were very pleased with whole process. We would highly recommend Firemen Movers. We found out that not all of the movers are firemen. We had one, but the others were either in training or wanting to become firemen. You can be sure these young men were trying to make a good impression. They certainly did.
