Renovation Consultation

View Member ProfileMy wife and I were in the middle of buying a home and we wanted to make sure that we would be able to do specific renovations before finalizing the sale (i.e. remove certain load-bearing walls, etc.). Through HomeStars.com, I discovered that Lindy Consulting Limited was offering a free consultation. Lindy Consulting had some glowing reviews, so I decided to make use of the consultation and emailed them. After a few emails back and forth, I was able to book an appointment with Steven Lindy on very short notice. Steven was accommodating and was able to come during a specific time slot. When I finally met Steven, he was very professional and straight forward. During our consultation, Steven provided some excellent ideas and possible concerns about our renovations. From this, I realized that we were dealing with a professional who would be doing things by the book, which is a characteristic my wife and I definitely appreciate. I will certainly be considering Lindy Consulting for their architectural services when we decide to renovate our new home. I would definitely recommend them to others for a consultation.

Consultation, design and development of a third floor attic space.

When we decided that we wanted to renovate our attic to create an extra room in our house, we realized we needed professional help. We were lucky enough to have found Steven and Annette to help us realize our project. They were lovely: prompt, pleasant, personable, professional, patient and last but not least, affordable. Complete interior alteration of a 4 bedroom home.
Lindy Consulting is a great team for your renovation! | Joanna, TorontoI have had the pleasure of working with the Lindy’s on multiple occasions. In our first project together there were interior alterations including a new kitchen, and re-orienting rooms in a bungalow. This meant removing load bearing walls. The plan we devised created amazing space, flow and continuity in a house that was initially dark and boxed-in. Thanks to Steve’s architectural drawings and design, I have just received my building permit for a complete renovation of my four bedroom home in Cedarvale. We opened many walls on the ground floor, which will create fabulous open-concept living. In addition, we redesigned the basement to make a guest room and playroom, and on the second floor we are adding a new bathroom for the kids, and turning the existing family bath into an incredible master retreat. I look forward to ongoing collaboration on my current project, and would highly recommend them for your project too!

Top to Bottom Home Renovation Project in York Mills | Vladimir and Lena, York Mills/LeslieWe engaged Lindy Consulting to help us with our plans to completely renovate and renew our “back split” house in North York. We met with Steven and Annette to discuss our ideas and how we envisaged rooms and finishes. They were able to understand our needs and we quickly felt very comfortable working with them. The work progressed quickly and decision-making was efficient. They prepared a complete set of drawings and details including finishes. The design includes a more updated look for the exterior, new open concept kitchen, bathrooms, sauna and a new master bedroom. They are extremely professional and thorough every step of the way. They were very helpful and they truly took ownership of the project and had our best interests in mind throughout. We are really pleased with the result.

Lindy Architects: Efficiency and style at no extra cost. | Jennifer Ces (Maquen Inc.) in TorontoThis husband and wife architect partnership is the perfect dream team that one can have when trying to coordinate, design and put forward a headache situation like an interior/exterior upgrade to your 80 year old home. We are a family of 4 and expecting a 5th member in June,this meant we needed an extra bedroom, and it is not easy renovating or building anything, however easy it is, with kids around. This is where the Lindy´s have shown their expertise, as they have a family of their own and understand families. What we found efficient about working with the Lindy´s, apart from the personal touch they showed while designing and planning out our 2nd floor addition; taking time to get to know our likes and dislikes, why the addition was being built, etc., was the fact that their plans were extremely detailed and at a great price, not only for us, but more importantly, for the contractor that has to budget and work with the plans. Not only is their work helpful, efficient, detailed, precise and at an affordable price, but also it has that touch of European design, elegance and unique style for the ideas of finishings, over all design and functionality that is difficult to find at an affordable price in our country. Conversion of 3rd Floor to Master Bedroom
Professional, Creative and Fair Pricing | Brunswick & CollegeWe engaged Lindy Consulting to provide some plans to renovate the 3rd floor of our house which was an unused portion of our house which contained two bedrooms and which we were using as additional storage space. Our plan was to move our master bedroom to this space and add a full washroom. We met with Steven and Annette to discuss our ideas and how we envisaged the space and our estimated budget. They came back to us the following week with some preliminary sketches that impressed us. We then gave them the mandate to prepare full drawings and once approved by us, they managed the project from completing the drawings, getting them approved, and seeing the project through to completion. We were quite hands-on in the decision making but they truly took ownership of the project and had our best interests in mind throughout. Although we ended up spending more than we budgeted (which was as a result of our decision to upgrade windows and bathroom appliances), we are really pleased with the final result.
