I've hired this company twice, and been very pleased both times. They are respectful, friendly, listen carefully to your concerns, and work quickly and efficiently. This company is a bit pricey, at least for the first hour (approx $150), so make sure that you get all of your electrical work done at the same time. It seems that HomeStars has been good for business - the second time that I used their services was in the "post-Home Stars" era and it took them over a week to return my call. Also, Antonio was too busy to take the job (he sent a junior associate). But, the quality of the work does not seem to have suffered. I will happily use this company again.

When I was going through the reviews and saw a rating of '10' many times I was suspect. But I have to tell you Java Electric is the real deal. Pierre (Java Oakville) is the only contractor I have ever known to show up when he says he will. He actually stays until the work is complete. He cleans up his stuff each and every day, plus he was great with our yappie dogs. More importantly he did not rip us off. Great value in my opinion. We are extremely happy with the work he did for us. I would in a heart beat recommend him and in fact I have to my friends and family. I would rate him 11 if I could. Dawna H. - Toronto

We were looking for an electrician to complete a variety of jobs; including installing pot lights in two showers, bathroom exhaust fans, switches for the above, as well as a few outlets. We first found out about Java electric from Homestars, contacted them due to their very high rating, and we are very glad we did. Antonio came to our house to give us a quote. He was very patient and friendly, arrived on time, and offered some very helpful suggestions for the work to be done. In the end, our discussions with Antonio left us with a high degree of confidence that the work would be done well, which was a big reason we selected Java. When Antonio and Pierre came to do the work, they arrived on time, and they were very careful and clean. A few issues arose, which required some decisions (i.e. a joist prevented one pot light from being placed in the centre of one of the showers). In each case, Antonio, or Pierre, thoroughly explained the situation, as well as the available options. Overall, we are very pleased with our decision to go with Java electric, and plan to use them for all future electrical contracting.

The professional service we received from Yunior and his work crew far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was friendly but focused on the work. They showed up on time and did the job within the days that was initially estimated, even though we had 40+ degree temperatures that week! Our job was a big job. Multiple interior potlight installation with a few fixtures and a few exterior potlights as well. Throughout the whole process, Yunior was extremely interactive with us in regards to our feedback as he wanted to ensure that the end result was top quality and done correctly. I've heard of other companies who try and put more lights in than is required, or just want to get the job done quickly. Java Electric was the opposite of this...pure professionalism from beginning to end, with an extreme attention to detail: ie) making sure the lights were spaced and lined up accurately, ensuring that there wasn't too much light or to little light in an area, and ensuring that the switches/dimmers for each light were positioned and installed at the most convenient location for our everyday purposes. It is this type of care and detail that gave us confidence that they were serious about their job. The quality of the end result shows how much this care to detail paid off. The cherry on top was the final cost for this big job. It was below what we estimated a job like this would be. Suffice to say, we are extremely satisfied and thankful that we found Java Electric and Yunior. We would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking to get lights installed in their home.

We recently added numerous pot lights in two apartments we had renovated 20 years ago. Java Electric with Antonio and Manuel were amazing. Courteous, timely and precise, they made the job look easy with little mess at all. They were a pleasure to have working in the apartments and both tenants expressed their satisfaction with the work and the electricians themselves. I would and have recommended them to friends.

Pierre from Java Electric was a pleasure to deal with. From the moment he came over he was gracious and explained everything that was required in order to upgrade our 60 amp service in our new Upper Beach house to 200, as well as a new panel and the removal of some knob and tube wiring (which the inspector from Carson Dunlop had carelessly overlooked). The work was completed over two and a half days and the results were great. Pierre made sure to patch up all the holes that were required for the work and left the wiring surrounding the new panel neat and organized which we appreciated. Overall we are very happy with the work and would highly recommend Pierre and Java Electric to those seeking electrical work on their homes.

We recently bought an 85 year old house, so as you can imagine, there was a lot of electrical work to be done. The main job was removal of knob and tube wiring which spanned most of the house. I got quotes from about five electricians which I found through recommendations from co-workers, recommendations from our realtor, ads in the paper, online, etc. Right from the beginning, Java Electric was by far the best service. They returned my call promptly and set up an appointment for a quote. Antonio and Manuel came by the house, on time, and provided a very thorough inspection of the situation and a detailed explanation of what had to be done and why. Antonio informed provided me with a written quote the next day, but he was able to provide me a rough verbal estimate before he left and even told me exactly how he calculates costs. His quote was very fair and competitive. After our first meeting with Antonio and Manuel, there was absolutely no question about who to hire, and we phoned Java Electric to set a date to start the work. When we had to delay work because of other renovations going on, Java Electric was extremely accommodating, and was able to reschedule. Since we had to delay past the deadline our insurance had given us to upgrade the wiring, Antonio gladly provided an official letter to our insurance stating that they were hired to remove the knob and tube wiring and would start work as soon as possible. In the end, we ended up commissioning Antonio to do quite a bit of electrical work, including: -Full removal of knob and tube wiring throughout the house (basement, main floor, upper floor – lights and receptacles) -Installation of a brand new Siemens panel -Amalgamation of lights onto one switch -Running new circuits to the kitchen for more power -Installation of two new outdoor GFCI receptacles -Installation of four new indoor receptacles -Installation of two new three-way switches to control basement lights from the main floor -Removal of bed room pot lights and installation of a center fixture for a ceiling fan The actual work done by Antonio and Manuel was absolutely impeccable. His wiring is extremely neat and logical. I can’t emphasize enough that when it comes to running new circuits, Antonio spends his time finding clever routes and fishing the lines rather than making holes in the walls/ceilings. It is absolutely amazing that they pretty much re-wired my entire house with such few holes. On top of that, they patch up the few holes they do need to make! This is a huge bonus! Lastly, they are extremely clean. They lay drop cloths everywhere they work and thoroughly clean up all the areas they work in on a daily basis. I am not exaggerating when I say my house was cleaner each day after Antonio left than before he came. Contrast this with my neighbour who hired a shoty electrician and had to move out of their house during the knob and tube removal since their electrician made so much dust. They were also amazing in terms of keeping me in the loop. Everyday Antonio would tell me what he planned to get done that day, why it needed to be done that way, and what to expect. Every evening he would phone me to review what was done and what time he would start the next day. On top of everything else, Antonio and Manuel are just genuinely nice guys – the type of guys you don’t mind having in your house. Very, very, very, very highly recommended!
