We hired Paul's Pest Control to remove hornets. The service was guaranteed for 6 mths, and we had to have them come back 4 times to reapply the chemicals. I understand this was a tricky job, given the unknown location of the nest; however, they were not pleasant to deal with and made it sound like a hassle each time. The problem was also not fully resolved until the weather became very cold.

Hi, Paul here. It has been some time since we made our 5th visit (yes, it was indeed 5) to solve your elusive hornet problem. Sounds like the trouble has settled down and I am glad to hear it. As you have mentioned here, our issue was in dealing with the unknown location of a hornet nest in your home. What made the problem more difficult was that we knew the nest was behind the bricks in an area designed to allow air movement. We could have easily introduced a powder chemical to find and kill the hornets, but that could have potentially exposed you and your family to chemical dust migration. I hope you understand that it simply would have been unethical to have done that. Instead, I was determined to solve it using the safest method possible. It was frustrating for us both. My pest control license requires that I do what is safest for the customer, even if it means inconveniencing myself and them! By the 5th visit, neither one of us were very happy to see each other, were we? I do apologize for venting my frustration over the difficulty of the situation. But the fact is, and will always be I would rather have a safe, but annoyed customer than to risk putting them in harm's way.
