I thought I was getting arthritis in most of my joints until we bought our mattress at Halstead. Within a few days, the majority of my aches and pains were gone. Even when we stay in 5 star hotels, we look forward to getting back into our own bed! For us, it was about much more than a good night's sleep but it provides that too! I recommend Halstead to all my friends and family. They don't sell off the shelf, they custom make a bed to meet your needs at a price that is more than fair!

We purchased our bed 6 years ago. We went with the intent of buying a memory foam mattress. The salesperson asked about our back health and advised that although they could make more money if they sold us the memory foam he recommended we buy a mattress that would meet our individual health needs. My husband's side of the bed is made to accommodate his needs and my side meets mine !! We felt well looked after and have been very happy with our bed. We recommend Halstead Mattresses to our friends and family.

I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis and before I bought my Halstead mattress I could hardly walk in the morning, let alone get out of bed. Since purchasing my Halstead it has made a remarkable change in my overall joint health and range of motion. The sales team was well informed about my affliction and answered all the questions I had in a very professional and thorough manner. I would not hesitate to recomend this company and its products to all my family and friends, or a complete stranger suffering from arthritis or joint pain. I recently had a client that stumbled across this site and said I must take a look and what I have found is brutal slander. I have not only furnished client’s homes with Halstead Sofa and Mattress; I have brought clients to their store where we have all received exceptional service. I have personally purchased a King mattress and custom sectional and again outstanding service. I stand behind this company and recommend their service whenever I have a chance. I wouldn’t keep going back year after year and put my professional rep on the line if it was not a top shelf company.

Sleeping on a Halstead mattress used to be a luxury and owning one was a dream. They are extremely expensive and when the time finally came that we could afford a Halstead mattress and that our current aches and pains could justify it, we thought that our dream had been realized. We had good service in the store, but the service seems to have stopped there. Our bed was delayed because our email detailing boxspring measurements was not received "because of problems with their server". When we finally got the bed, it was so uncomfortable that my husband would not sleep in it. A number of phone calls were placed and none were returned. We were freaking out! Finally, a call was answered by store staff and my husband was lectured to about how to tolerate the bed. We ordered both medium and firm inserts, but really can't tell which is which. If they had been up front and admitted that the bed may take up to three weeks to become comfortable, we wouldn't have been so concerned. Seriously, the beds are very expensive and there is a huge expectation. The bed's comfort is improving and we hope that it will soon be the "bed of our dreams". The poor service is what is hurting this company's reputation. We also ordered pillows from them and when we got home from picking up our order, they were missing. It took us to realize the deficiency in our order and our initiative to contact them immediately. Come on people ... just be upfront. Inform us that the pillows are back-ordered. Customers don't like to panic and mistrust you!! We feel EXTREMELY doubtful that they will contact us when the pillows arrive. We will continue to phone with hopes that we will receive expected service and honest answers.

We went to Halstead in Deerfoot Meadows in mid August 2010. We ordered a couch / hide-a-bed from the store. The salesman was friendly and helpful. We stated we had relatives coming in October to visit and wanted the couch for them to sleep on. We were told the couch would be ready mid-October or end of October at the latest. It is now December 13th. Do I have my couch? No. When am I suppose to get it? Well I have been told next week the 22nd. Keep in mind we have been told 'next week' for two months now. Everytime I call (they don't call, update or make any attempt to explain the delay themselves), they tell me "they are just finishing up", "the arms on the couch are proving to be difficult", "they ran out of fabric". The fact that they are supposedly still working on our 1 couch up to days before delivery, makes me think they didn't even start on our couch until a month or so ago. What have they offered for the 2 month delay? Free delivery...wow. Big deal. This has been a terrible experience. They have offered virtually no explanation as to how in the world our delivery time has doubled. Terrible, terrible customer service and experience. I just pray the couch isn't a disaster when we get it. Do yourself a favor, deal with anyone else but Halstead.

This company should not be in business. These people sold me a bed and made me pay in full within 2 weeks yet delivered the WRONG product. After so many phone calls I lost count, I was still no closer to a resolution. It has been over a year and I've given up. They also sold me a mattress protector that never came into stock, yet when I asked for a refund after about 11 months of waiting, they wouldn't do it. Apparently, when it says 'all sales final' on your receipt, it means they keep your money whether they deliver a product - any product - or not. Do yourself a favour, shop somewhere else. They have 'SALE' signs on their store that seem to be there all year round so you think you're getting a great deal but you're not. You're paying for headaches, REALLY bad service, poor products and taking a gamble on whether you'll receive anything at all. I lost a lot of sleep over this company - which is ironic since I bought a latex bed to sleep better! - and I never got my issues resolved. I spent a LOT of money and wasn't the least bit satisfied. If you don't believe me, check out the BBB website before you buy. Google other review sites on this company. You'll be glad you did.
