We had a few different companies quote for shutters. All of which came recommended. I decided to go with Star because they made their own shutters and the quality seemed good. They also had the best price of the three which was also a strong consideration. We paid a deposit and the install date was scheduled for two weeks later. They arrived as scheduled and the installation team was friendly and professional. They ensured that all the shutters were installed correctly. We are pleased with the way the shutters look and operate. They are a clean and modern look to our home. We opted for the larger slats as they allow more light into the house.

We shopped around and Star Shutters had the best price, after installation, we were pleased with the build quality and workmanship. The whole process was very professional. Everyone was on time, and very efficient. One of the patio door had a manufacturing defect, it was promptly pointed out by the installer, taken down, and 3 days later, a refinished patio door was installed. I really respect the fact that the installer was fully knowledgeable and taken the issue upon himself and resolved it for me. I would definitely recommend Star to my friends and family.

We had 5 windows done in the house. 3 small, one very big and a patio sliding door. I called around for quite a few quotes, however, no other company could beat the price of Star Custom Shutters. I called in with measurements, and they told me aproximately how much it is going to cost. After they came to do their measurements the next day, the price remained the same even though there were slight adjustments to the measurements. The installing was scheduled within three weeks (really happy about that!)! The guys came in on the scheduled day and installed everything in 2 hours! No mess left behind, just great, fast and efficient work! Overall we are very happy with the work done and will definetely get the shutters installed with Star Custom Shutters in our next house!

my husband and I were looking a reputable place to buy shutters. Our family friends recommended this business for what we were looking for. When we had the initial consultation we were very pleased and we then went ahead with our order.

Called Star Custom Shutters for a quotation, received quote and asked them to come and measure my windows. Was told that my windows do not support inside mount, so frames would need to be built and the cost would be 20% more. I was ok with that since I was told that this would make my windows look nicer. The installers came and install the frames and shutters, but I noticed that the gap between the top rail and the window frames were not evenly spaced in the set of windows in the master bedroom. One window had a much bigger gap than the others and this detracted from the over-all appearance. Call Stars and they sent in technicians. The technicians adjusted the shutter but the shutter is now a little lopsided. The technician told me that is because of my window frames, I said to the technician that these were suppose to be custom made and each window was measured by them so they should have taken this into consideration. I asked if they could put in a wood shim to lower the frame a bit and this would them make the gap more acceptable, the technician said no that it would not work, not sure why since the frame bottom had a gap that they filled with caulk. I mentioned to them that I was very disappointed since each window was measured and I was expecting that the shutters would have the same gap spacing in a series of windows, so that they would look symetrical. The technicians told me that was the best that they could do, so very disappointed since every time that I look at the shutters all I see is the even gap, which is not what I was expecting from custom made shutters. Received call from Lee the owner of the company and he came and looked at the shutter involved, he said that he would fix the issue, since he wanted his customers to be satisfied since it is his business and he wants to be in for the long term and knows that to stay that he needs happy customers. Lee removed the shutter and came back the next evening and installed the shutter himself. Very pleased that he wants his customers to be satisfied, would have no hesitation to recommend his company.

I am extremely happy with the look of my house with California Shutters. It has beautified our home and has also had some insulation value as well. Although we had estimates from several other shutter companies, we chose STAR custom shutters because of the affordable price, great quality .. My husband and I were blown away by how beautiful they look!! Keep up the good work guys!! I'll definately recommend you to anyone I know!! ***Update*** Lee the owner of the Company called us to come and look at the problem, he came on time and was willing to do anything to help and keep us happy (this Guy really cares about the customers and his reputation)and promised to correct the problem, will keep everybody posted of the outcome when we get the new shutters installed as promised, ***update*** Lee the owner came and intsalled the shutters by himself and it looks great i would recomend this company to anybody.

I knew about Stars' reputation from the past, I am a repeated customer. I am very pleased with their services and quality. As to value for your money., they earned top marks from me. I would not hestitate to refer them to my friends and family.

The blinds look good. The men who installed them were fast and efficient. The didn't clean up after themselves. Left wood shavings on the floor in the kitchen from installing the patio door shutters. Anything they moved was left and not put back in its spot. The paint smell coming off the shutters is unbearable. It doesnt seem to be going away. When asked if the shutters would smell from paint once I purchased them, they assured me that they wouldn't.
