I originally purchased 7 surplus windows from Weiss to install myself. Before I got to the job one of my windows disappeared. I went back to Weiss in September of 2011, because I recalled that they had another surplus window of the same size. Unfortunately, a pane of glass in it was cracked. I paid for the window ($99) and then paid $246.75 for it to be repaired. The autumn passed and it was not ready, so I had to board up the opening for the winter. I did not hear from them through the winter and went to pick up my window in the spring of 2012. First they went looking for the window and could not find it. Then they claimed that they do not do repairs. Next, they said I had never bought windows from them, even though their charges for the repairs are on my credit card statement. I contacted the owner, who sounded very helpful, indicating that he would look into it and get back to me within 24 hours. When I didn't hear from him again, I contacted him and got an e-mail reply, insisting that he had never promised me anything. I insisted that he had and that they owed me a window. I have heard nothing from them since, so proceeded to launch a civil suit against them. Today I was advised by the bankruptcy trustees that Weiss Window & Door Inc. went bankrupt on Aug. 24, 2010 (before I had transacted this business with them. I will now have to search whether they changed their name to Weiss Windows & Doors Factory Direct Ltd. and were operating under this new name at the time. Whatever name they go by, they certainly have not operated in any sort of reputable fashion in my case and I will continue to pursue my claim through the courts.

Lots of promises, slow to get installed, wrong windows were installed on side of house and other problems, kept putting us off to fix problems. Tried getting in contact with them with no luck.

Same problem as Christine Johnson, paid 1/2 the price and paid in September. None of my calls or emails were being returned. Filed a complaint with the BBB and they said the letter they sent was undeliverable or they are no longer in business.

We paid 1/2 the price of windows and a new door . We paid in November - None of our calls are being returned. Has the company gone into bankruptcy again? I just called the Better Business Bureau and Weiss Windows and Doors went into bankruptcy in 2010. I just want my money or the product I paid for.

Elliot is a slick salesman but can't deliver on his word. We had our builder take our money and run and Elliot heard about us and contacted us. He seemed good intentioned and presented a solid product. We stressed the need to have the job done in a timely fashion. Elliot said it would be 6 - 8 weeks. At 10 weeks we started calling to see what the hold up was. No one was providing answers and at 15 weeks Elliot called and left a nasty message saying we we're tormenting him - asking about the windows, Finally at 17 weeks they were delivered and installed. The installers did a poor job and many of the windows weren't plumb. The doors weren't properly shimmed and I has to call after 3 weeks to get them to fix a door so the siders could continue. They didn't return the call and I ended up paying another person to come and fix the door. (Problem is the top of the door is narrower than the bottom). In addition to all this the bill was higher than the agreed upon contract. Finally, not all products were delivered and 4 months after the install we are still waiting for a door -which was supposedly sent to be repaintined. Elliot makes excuses for his lack of ability to deliver and blames others. I suspect the company won't survivie much longer. Avoid this company save your money and your time.

Our entire experience with Weiss was fantastic, from our visit to the showroom to the actual installation. Staff did a great job of describing the difference between products and helping us choose the best combination for our house/location. After living with our new windows and doors for a while, I can honestly say that our heating and cooling costs have been drastically reduced - what a great investment!

I have lived in my home for 15 years and realized that it was time for some upgrades. My new decorative door really spruced up the look of the house, as well as fixed the draft I had been getting from under the old door due to wear and tear. Elliot Weiss and his team installed my door in under an hour, and being January I was very happy with the simplicity and timeliness of the installation. The quality of the door is exceptional and I am thrilled with the results.

The service I received from Weiss Windows was exceptional! We had our upper floor windows replaced in the summer, and main floor last week. The installers for both projects were fantastic - very friendly and professional. The main floor project was done last week, and our installer Alex was on his hands and knees vacuuming up dust and debris while backing out of my house. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with both Elliott Weiss, and his installation crew. We absolutely ove the windows too!

We had Weiss replace all of our windows. They came in at a very good price with excellent products. They delivered on time and the installers were extremely professional and did a great job installing the windows. We would definitely recommend Elliott and his team to anyone.

First off I would like to say how extremely pleased I am with my windows and doors! Elliott from the get go just seemed to fully understand mine and my husbands taste to a T. He was professional and passionate about his job, this alone had inspired us, since we had received quotes from about five different window companies who all seemed to just be going through the motions. It was so re assuring that the president of the company took his time out of his day to meet with us and provide us with a quote and a full explanation to any questions that arose. He had illustrated our front door for us, and it came out better than I ever could have imagined. My french doors are lovely and our windows are impeccable. We could not be happier. The installation process was quick and efficient, we did not even need to be there, which was nice to not have to miss work. The employees were trust worthy and helped to make a part of our home stunning. I strongly feel this company is very customer oriented, (which was a breath of fresh air for us, since we have been dealing with some awful vendors lately), it was nice to feel like we mattered, and mostly that it wasn't just a get the money and run company. Elliott, did not take our final payment until he personally came and did a walk through with us to ensure satisfaction. This company has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and we could not be happier. If you would like windows at an affordable price with great customer satisfaction, I would definitely recommend dealing with Weiss. We have already referred friends and family and will continue to do so. We are hoping to build a home in the near future and will definitely be back to contract work through Weiss again.
