We recently contracted Eddy’s Demolition and Excavation Limited to completely gut the inside of our home and excavate a rear addition. My intention for writing this review is to make sure that this company is recognized for their exceptional level of service and workmanship. The demolition was a nightmare of plaster and lathe, typical of a 105 year-old home. What completely surprised me is how meticulous and thorough Eddy’s was of clearing the house of items left behind by prior trades. They removed all the de-commissioned knob and tube wiring and old gas lighting pipes hiding within the walls. The job was never rushed and we were left with an interior that was a clean blank slate with which to build on. The excavation wasn’t without its setbacks but Eddy’s found a way to handle it all. In the end, the job was completed on time, on budget and the city inspection was promptly approved. We live in the Beaches, an area that is notorious for difficult neighbours. During the demolition and excavation process, Eddy’s machines were “tagged” by neighbourhood children; their employees harassed by “concerned” neighbours and the city inspectors and officers were summoned unnecessarily despite valid building permits issued for all work. Despite this Eddy, Nathan, Jonathan, Mike, Ryan and the rest of the team never complained, remaining friendly and professional, throughout the course of the job. Donna even went to bat for us when another company didn’t complete the work they were paid to do. She contacted them on our behalf and in the end, Eddy assisted us in getting the job done; going above and beyond the job that he was contracted to do. This is the outstanding level of service that Eddy provides its clients. We have hired many companies to work on our home in the past and none have provided the level of service and quality of work Eddy’s does. Eddy’s was referred to us and I would not hesitate to also refer them to others as they are worth every penny. Referrals and word of mouth are vital to the success of any business and now I understand why Eddy’s is so successful.
