My neighbor in the back of our house got Don to remove the chain link fence between our properties and replace it with a wooden one, his work quality is excellent, we shall definitely keep his contact information for future references.

Weather and heat held us up this summer with our small project, but Don and Harold got ‘er done. Don/Harold landscaped our whole back yard years ago. Great job. This year we made some changes and Don/Harold did an excellent job again.

Delayed right from the start. Errors and poor workmanship on deck. Incomplete. So many excuses several times a week. Less than 6 week job not done over 6 months later. Would NEVER recommend him. If you even think of hiring him, check at least 3-4 REAL people and get them to show you the work. You’ll find more who are angry and stressed about his work ethics. There is no team. It’s just Don. IF you hire (don’t!!!) spell out EVERY DETAIL in the contract! Be VERY careful or just don’t hire him!

Don completely transformed our backyard! He designed and built a beautiful wood retaining wall, flower beds and resodded our back and front yard, as well as, built our wood fence. His pricing is very reasonable and he is very easy to work with. He took my vision for my backyard and gave suggestions and ideas which yielded outstanding results. I couldn’t be happier with how my yard turned out!

My husband and I highly recommend Gardens of Distinction of Brampton. Don has worked in 2 of our houses building decks, patios, trellis, landscaping making our backyards and curb appeal of our houses true oasis. His eye for design is amazing, he knows how to select the right materials from stones, rocks, trees, evergreens, etc to perfection. His quality of work is unmatched, and the end result is stunning. Don is completely unreliable. It's 12 months later and the job was never completed. I finally fired him. EVERY deadline was missed and we heard EVERY excuse in the book. He even damaged our new fence and chipped the stone façade on the front of the house! We have since met some of his other customers in the neighborhood and our story is quite common. I wish I had listened to wiser people and avoided Gardens of Distinction.

Paid deposit in Aug 2015 to secure Sept 21st start date. Constant delays and excuses on reasons why they cannot be onsite. Two more Payments were made ahead of progress on the belief that progress would be made the following week. It appears Don Kirkpatrick (owner/operator) has only 1 other employee (Harold) and Don booked another job in Oakville which has his priority. He shows up for an hour here and there, and there are weeks between visits. It is Nov 26 and I am still living in a pile of mud and no access to our front entrance and no progress in weeks. Since our last payment Don continues with excuse after excuse as to why he cannot be onsite: " got 4 flat tires"," hurt my hand", "at other job in Oakville", "accident with trailer", "something of a personal nature", etc. We even asked him to work while we were away for a week and he refused because he needed to finish his Oakville job and then he could concentrate on our job, which has yet to happen. We requested a written schedule for completion on Nov 14th and he has already delayed that schedule by a week because he is not finished in Oakville and now something else has come up. To be perfectly clear, the weather has not been a factor in these delays. There have been many warm sunny days that he refused to be onsite. There is NO material onsite for a driveway, walkway, porch, landscape rocks, mulch, and soil. We will update this posting accordingly, if there is ever any progress. Please note it appears that a 2 is the lowest rating Homestars allows.

Don is not to be trusted. We had a big project lined up to start in May/2014. Two weeks before the actual start we decided it would be best to cancel the job as Don was not making any progress. He was very unprofessional and he has yet to return our $5600.00 deposit (he agreed he would do it in full since he didn't do anything yet not even the paperwork for the permits. My backyard was never done and now I have to go to small claims to get my money back because Don does not want to return my hard earned money. Don't trust this man.

We contracted Gardens of Distinction based on their design, price and a recommendation from a friend. They deliver exactly what we wanted. The work involved a complete re-grading of the backyard with retaining walls (armour rocks and timber wall)and stone steps. Next spring, We will finally start enjoying a nice and functional backyard for years to come

I will recommend Don and Harold to everyone I know!!! They are awesome hard working people. Don is a perfectionist.. They re-did our whole entire front entrance and interlocking connecting to garage and driveway. It was a detailed job. They even re-used our old plants and re-planted them. They gave us much more than what we expected. Very detail. They worked when it was raining and even snowing to try to finish the job before snow storm. We appreciate what they did for our house. It was perfect. Thank you!
