I had saved & saved & purchased top of the line LG Washer & Dryer. I HATED them & the appliance company did NOT stand behind them. I paid $3,000 & sold them on Craigslist for $1,000 in only 1 year. Subsequently I purchased Huebsch from Handy Appliances. Their prices were better - they arrived in good order. Polite & respectful delivery people. LOVE the new machines.

Electric ring broke down (once again) on my stove so I needed to pick up a new one. Got a recommendation from a friend to try out this store. Good communication on the phone and after bringing in my broken "ring", they were able to order the part for me within 2 days. Convenient parking as well, and close to my home (Fraser St., near Kingsway).

We made an appointment for our stove to be delivered a week in advance at an appointed time. They did not call to say they would be 3 and half hours late and when I called the company (3 times!) to get an explanation the person on the other end was condescending and defensive, not at all sensitive to the fact that my entire day had been wasted waiting for their unprofessional delivery men to show up. I think this company has very poor business practices and will never use their service (or lack thereof!) again.

Called them to fix a Laundry dryer which was not heating up. Came in professional, very nice, prompt and fixed the problem. Operator was also nice. Very very highly recomended.

we had an issue with our 2 year old fridge- the freezer was not working properly. The service man was on time and very polite. I was very happy with the service and scheduling . I would recommend calling them

My dishwasher broke down. I called Handy Appliance because they do service as well as sales, something that I believe is important. They sent a technician out, he checked the unit, and deemed it not worth repairing. They billed me a fair fee of under $100 with tax, and added that if I purchased a replacement from them that they would credit half the service charge toward a new unit. They have a number of brands available. I asked what they would recommend. I chose a unit, but then was steered towards a unit that was on sale, as it had similar features. The technician arrived on time, calling ahead to confirm the appointment, installed the new unit, removed the old, and took all the materials with him. A perfect job, and a happy customer. Sounds easy, but try to get this service from many other suppliers.

Good variety of used appliances, limited selection of new. Parts center is small, often doesn't have parts on hand, and must order them. They often have used parts for older machines which are difficult to find.

Knew this store has been around for a long time, so decided to call them for help with our old washer as it was frequently burning out during the spin cycle. I don't know a lot about washers, but they were able to help us fix the belt that drives thew washer. I like that this store is independent and family-owned, and the staff obviously know what they are doing. We gave the washer to a friend shortly after as we got a new one, but she still says its been working without a hitch.

and so I called Handy Appliances. They were here within a couple days and were able to diagnose and fix the problem on the spot. Unfortunately, it had only worked for a few days before it stopped working again... however they brought someone back to fix it free of charge.

We've used Handy Appliance to repair our washers and dryers in our apartment building and they seem competent enough, but in terms of value for money, I'm still looking for a better repair company. The prices they charge for some of the parts they use seem too high, and at one point I was able to find the same part for almost half of what Handy was going to charge.
