I moved from Perth, Ontario, to Vancouver Island with 2 months storage in Calgary while we looked for a house. The movers at either end were very pleasant and efficient but despite careful packing, a sewing table and a TV stand made of veneered blockboard were squashed beyond repair. What I liked about 2 small men was that they gave you a spreadsheet that showed every item and cost of the move. When I adjusted the actual weight using this spreadsheet I came within dollars of the final bill. What seemed no problem when we left was a note saying that parking had to be available for a 70 ft tractor trailer. The apartment here had no space for such a vehicle and so I had to rent a 26ft U-Haul and the 2 men from AMS Transportation transferred the furniture into this truck and drove it to the apartment and I paid them for this service – with rental only about $140 extra. This took some arranging and finding a place where the transfer took place.

I recently moved from Orillia, Ontario to Vancouver, B.C. After hearing lots of horror stories about movers, I was nervous. I went with Two Small Men with Big Hearts because a neighbor recommended them. My move went really well, from the booking, to the pick-up, to the drop-off, with no damages. I heard so many stories about moving and movers I was a wreck through the whole process. Terry and Barb were kind and helpful yet had my doubts. All doubts were put to rest when my shipments arrived on time and surprise...no hidden fees!!! Kudos to two small men(terry and barb) and to Prodigy for a job well done. Sometime ago I used Two Small Men with Big Hearts & since then I have been very upset that my collectables never arrived at the receiving end. Lesson learnt, that you never mark your boxes listing the content. I reported the absent goods to the Better Business Bureau as well as the police knowing that it was just my word. The moving truck was aproximately 1-1.5hrs behind our vehicle. They said that they had to be cautious with our contents. Either they had a drop off of goods (my property) or they were hiding my valuables in the front of the truck which I suspect as they were very nervous when I walked on after everything had been unloaded. I've always been nervous & suspicious with movers. When I called the Brantford/Hamilton location Brent was very courtious & helpful. He gave me a quote & said he would accept a cheque. The movers arrived on time & appeared to be organized. Great! Less stress... until... we reached the other end, they did not arrive for some time later. As we worked into the afternoon their breaks were endless (3 men I was paying for), walls were banged up, furniture was not assembled properly.They didn't have the proper tools & mine were limited. Now I am emotionally exhausted. I wanted them out even if I had to pay someone else to assemble the beds,couch & dining room table. My invoice was almost $400.00 over the original quote from Brent. The guys would not accept my cheque. They new where I lived. What's the problem? Brent said it was O.K. No,no,no they would not leave the premises without cash. Apparentely, this Brent would not pay them. So off I went to the bank. Absoloutely exhausted! I will not publish the actual movers names as from what they told me how Brent threatens & blackmails them. I have learnt that many moving companies subcontract their men. Buyer beware! Due to the fact that several collectables & valuables were missing I give Two Small Men with Big Hearts a 0. Brent's franchise should be called One Little Man with No Conscience.

I imoved from Halifax to Ottawa 2 months ago and this was my first time moving long distance. I was told to be careful of the movers I coose and that all moves come with headaches. Well imagine my surprise when absolutly nothing went awray. From the first email for a quote to my final phone call to book the move., nothing went wrong. Terry was very pleasant and easy to speak to. Everything was explained to me in plain english. The day of the move the men were a half hour late, but considering rush hour traffic they had to deal with, I can understand, and yes, they phoned me to tell me they were going to be a bit late..... Lets face it, delivery people very rarely phone to say they are late. When they were close they called to tell me that my belongings were a bit overweight and supplied me with scale reciepts. I was not so sure about that since Ive been told that movers can be dishonest, so they rescaled the load (at my cost) and they were right. I felt a bit foolish for asking. But they were accommodating. Because the men wrapped everything before it left my house and didnt unwrap it until it got into my new place, nothing was damaged. Well one end table got a bit of a scratch, but its on a back leg so it will never show. Not really worth complaining abut. All in all I thouroughly enjoyed my experience with these people. I would use this company again and will recommend them. To be honest I dont know what office Terry works out of but they deserve a pat on the back. And to think I worried so much about this move. There was nothing to worry about.

I booked my move with www.moving.ca. to Calgary. The email estimate I received was quite lengthy and very detailed. None of my questions were overlooked. The movers came one day to pack all my house belongs and the next day to load up my 4 bedroom house. Everything went extremely well. I was very happy with the level of service and would definitely recommend this company to anyone. If I move cross country again, these guys will be hearing from me.

I used this moving company when I moved from my condo to a house, and needed to put some extra things in a storage locker; I chose Two Small Men With Big Hearts to do just the move into the storage locker. I booked about 2 months ahead, and the person I spoke to did a bit of 'dealing', waived the fuel tax and gave me a price, to which was below the other quotes I had received, so I agreed. The day of the move came, and at 9:00 when no one had showed (we were booked for 8am) of course I called. I got an apology and assurance the crew was on their way. When they arrived, this was not a professional moving crew, it was two teenagers with no supervision. This was not what I was promised, so called AGAIN. 6 hours later (I had to be at home in case they showed up) 2 guys finally arrived and were in a foul mood. The entire experience was horrible, they broke a table, a mirror and scratched another table, and ended with 'forgetting' the discounts that had been told to me. The kicker- I forgot to get my receipt, and went over to their truck where they were sitting smoking a joint. I can usually find some positive redeeming quality in a company and never write a flat our horrible review, however this is an exception: I would NEVER recommend this moving company.

This was the worst time of my life. Terry with 2 Small Men with Big Hearts mislead us about everything. I was not told they sub contracted to other companies she led me to believe that they did all their own moves. They did not weigh our items after they picked them up and as a result I was over charged. I was over charged for the packing they did and I was told I would only get charged for the actual time they took to pack. Our furniture came back to us scratched, dented, smashed, chipped, covered in grease or oil it was just awful. If you are planning on using 2 Small Men with Big Hearts or AMS Transportation Service Ltd. please reconsider and hire gorillas they would do a better job.
