Dan, thank you so much for coming right over to help secure my wood fence that was damaged after the strong winds we had in Toronto this weekend. It was an urgent repair, as it was ready to fall into our small parking lot, and I needed it fixed before cars were parked there again, as I didnt want the fence to fall and damage anyone's vehicles. I called you for the first time this Sunday at 12:45pm,and you were at my house at 2pm as promised, just 75 minutes after receiving my call. I couldn't believe it. Thanks for helping me, instead of doing your own property repairs that you had planned for the afternoon. You not only fixed the fence as best as possible on this cold winter day (until the ground thaws this Spring and we can replace the fence posts), but you also re-secured some eavestroughing that was blown loose. On top of all that, you even helped my neighbour rescue a pigeon that flew into his property accidentally by carrying the bird out of his office with your hands and placing him safely in a box for us to release him back to his awaiting flock. We hired The Handyman Dan (specifically Frank and Dan's son Chris) to do about 25 jobs around our house that we had just bought and had been recently renovated. The previous owners didn't finish all the jobs and there were some poorly completed aspects of the project. On a very short time line these guys got everything done and helped out with everything we needed to get done before we moved in. We even had some other trades working in the house at the same time and Frank and Dan were invaluable in helping the other trades out as well. The work ranged from: prepping walls for tiling, building and installing closet organizers, shelving (both custom and store bought), repairing trim work to plumbing installation. There is no doubt that we will continue to call and count on these guys for all jobs (not just the small ones) for our family in the future. They are A+++++++

When speaking about the job initally over the phone I was impressed by Dan's troubleshooting and ability to scope the job. When actually doing the work, he was thorough, clean and took the time to explain things. Safety and accuracy always seemed top of mind.

Dan quoted the exact amount of time that it would take to get the job done, he explained the process and steps he would take. He was professional, did a great job and I've already recommended him to friends and family.

Dan took the time to explain his approach in great detail, which gave me the confidence that he knew the trade. So it as no surprise when he began executing the work with a great deal of attention to every detail. The final result was impeccable finishes (the kind you'd get only in high-end stores). Dan is a true professional. The job took exactly as long as he said it would. He made the banister and completed a list of other odd jobs: tile replacements, plaster patches. Great to work with.

We hired Dan to figure out why there was no heat coming into the nursery. Frank showed up on time, went straight to work to figure out the problem. He checked our ducts, fixed all our vents, taped up our furnace, and gave us a little lesson on heating. And now our house is toasty warm. Thanks Dan and team!

I found Dan a few years ago on this very site. I looked at some of the other handymen listed and found that Dan had more reviews than the others (a good sign) and all of them were very positive. That first time, as well as every other time that I've hired him, Dan showed up right on time, did the work beyond my expectation(s), was pleasant and courteous and gave suggestions and recommendations that I perhaps hadn't considered. What hasn't he done for me? When I sold my last house he built a mantle for, and installed tile in front of, my fireplace. He helped with the laying of our new hardwood floors (we did most of the work but he help with some of the tricky cuts, etc.); installed the quarter-round in record time; leveled out and stabilized my front porch, making it look brand new, and on. I can't say enough about Dan to make you understand how happy I am that I found him. He's a great handyman and a super nice guy as well!

Having been a homeowner for many years before I moved to Yonge/Bloor, I have encountered the worst of the worst when it came to tradespeople. I found The Handyman Dan on Homestars.ca and he is truly amazing. He always has a better plan to achieve the same results but for less cost. He always thinks ahead, just recently saving me much money and time- consuming re-do's. His workmanship in all jobs he's done for me is exceptional. He is punctual, cordial, never leaves a mess. I have recommended him to many friends and colleagues.

I own a personal concierge company, and hired Dan/Frank to do a variety of handyman tasks at my clients farm. Frank arrived right on time and came completely prepared with the items I had requested. He was efficient and gave great suggestions. I have already hired him for a second visit, and will continue to use this company. Their rates are very reasonable, and they seem to do fantastic work.
