Pat of T & K was invited to tender on the HVAC for our new house build by our project manager. In addition to the strong endorsement by our project manager, Pat won the tender by quoting the supply of a larger HRV system than originally specified in the design, recommending that the larger HRV unit would be ducted to the bathrooms to avoid individual bathroom fans. Pat stated that he would only charge us his differential cost in furnishing the larger HRV unit, which he said prior to the work should have a capacity of 360 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Pat installed the supposed larger HRV system, and said to my face that it had a capacity well over 300 CFM. Pat charged us a differential price of $1,800 for this larger HRV unit. Our subsequent research indicated that the HRV system he installed was only 200 CFM, and cost him a estimated differential price of about $50, not $1,800. This is a mark-up of 3600%. This all happened under our project managers nose, who it turned out to be his long-time family friend, hockey mate, and who we also learned owed Pat money. Pat also failed to set up our furnace correctly, and tried to collect the final 7% of the contract amount despite > 15% of the work remaining outstanding, including the fact that the A/C unit has not been completely installed and remains un-operational since 2009. Pat admitted to me in 2010 that he had mis-represented to me the capacity of the HRV unit he installed. We are continuing to explore the extent of Pat’s negligence perpetrated under, or in cooperation with our project manager who we are in dispute with.

Pat & Jeff came to give me a quote two years ago now. I just stumbled on this blog and thought I would post a review. They originally quoted me on a brand name unit and at the last minute replaced the original unit they quoted me on with a Comfort Air Unit. It sounds like a jet plane taking off in my driveway. Had them back for service once after I made a complaint to the BBB. I would never recommend these people. If I had to do it all again I would have paid double to get the service and follow-up I should have received from the start. I have a manufacturer's warranty but I don't know how to get in touch with the manufacturer. Also my 5 years parts and labor warranty is no good unless I can find someone to repair and maintain it. I would be happy to share all the nightmares this so called company caused us. I can't urge you enough to pay a bit more for a unit like this. When we do it again we will always go with a reputable dealer and not a small contractor. I actually wanted to give this company my business as I felt they were small and I wanted to give them my business. Not.......

Exceptional Job, installation was very smooth considering the level of difficultly in our 90+ year-old home. Pat and his crew worked like dogs and they offered the overall best price I could find on the 2 ton 10 sier air conditioner with a beautiful touch screen programmable thermostat. I've already recommended them to a few friends for their great pricing.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. They installed 5 Units for my friends and I at our new cottages up North on Georgina Island. He seemed like the nicest guy until we had problems with his installation and would never return my calls to get the problem resolved. They did not install a transition between the furnace and the coil box and left so many holes in the duct work. The after service was absolutely awful and the workmanship was even worse.
