From Jane and Craig When our existing 30’x12’ cedar deck began to show signs of severe “old age” we began to search for a reputable company to replace it. We had settled on the idea of a composite deck with cedar railings and privacy wall. We took our ideas to several contractors and eventually settled on Royal Decks, Mississauga for several reasons: 1. Miro Simecek, the owner, is a civil engineer. His deck concept was not only beautiful but also structurally sound in all respects 2. He provided a very comprehensive design package, not just a couple of 2-D drawings but full 3-D renderings that allowed my wife and I to completely visualize the deck 3. He also provided a highly detailed quotation to us, allowing us to trade off a complete cedar deck against a hybrid of composite and cedar (which we eventually chose) 4. Miro never tried to over-sell us. Rather he worked with us to stay within our budget 5. Miro provided a VERY competitive quote package – right in our sweet spot! When work commenced on the deck, Miro and team were in constant communication with us, as they worked around spring rains to get started. Steve, the master carpenter and his site crew were fantastic. All work was completed as if they were building a deck for themselves and the finished product is absolutely beautiful. We chose (based on Miro’s recommendations) a PVC decking product. The main deck is a light “brownstone”. Miro suggested this as a good choice as it doesn’t get hot in the sun. To break up the deck and to add decorative features, he used a Redwood colour for trim and feature strips. The finished product looks incredible and has surpassed our expectations. The crew was spotless in their work and left my back yard cleaner than they found it. I would recommend Royal Decks to anyone thinking of a new deck and would rate them a solid 10! Miro and Steve are true professionals who actually believe that customer service is the key to a successful small business. Well done guys!

10++++++++. I am writing my review before this Deck Project is even finished to properly reflect how happy I am with the entire project so far. Deck Size is 10' x 6'. From the very beginning Miro was the most professional person I have ever dealt with, kind and extremely helpful with the design, colour selection and has perfect communication skills. I am very happy wtih the colour selection. Steve, the deck installer, is, what can I say, an expert deck craftsman. Although the deck is not yet complete I can see that it is perfect, starting with the 2 footings that Steve also installed. I shudder to think if I had gone with another deck company. I totally agree with all the 10 rating comments other people have posted about this Company. Steve and his assistant are hardworking and delightful to be around. I have included pics of the unfinished deck and will attach pics of completed deck when it is done. Deck should be completed today (Day 2) and I am extremely happy. Colours: Brownstone and Acacia. 10++++++

Royal Decks did an outstanding job building my deck. They helped me with proper drawings to obtain a city permit and were very knowledgable through the whole process. Their crew arrived early, worked hard and cleaned up nicely. We are really happy with the deck.

This project was completed in May 2012 (apologies for the delay). Julian was my main contact person and he was extremely easy to contact and talk to, and probably a huge reason we decided to go with Royal Decks over another company. We were extremely excited when our project start date got pushed up. Jesse and his partner worked really hard (12-14 hour days) and by day 4, the deck was close to done. Unfortunately, they ran out of material and fascia boards were on back order, and that's when things started to turn south. We were concerned about animals getting underneath the deck without these fascia boards, and when I expressed this concern, I felt I was just being brushed off. We were then away for 5 days and when we returned, the deck was still incomplete, but the back-order material was sitting on our front lawn. I had to follow up a couple times to figure out when they were coming back to finish the job. One day without notice, I came home and the deck was completed. Great, but just wish I was informed and could have been home for it. Lastly, some material from the very beginning was still left on our lawn for a few more days after the project was completed. I also had to follow up to see when it would get picked up. This resulted in a giant dead patch of grass we ended up having to fix ourselves with reseeding and fertilizer. Overall, we are happy with the final product, and the service was good up until the back-order. After working with another contractor on another project after this, I have come to a conclusion that contractors in general are not the greatest with communication, and I have come to terms with this. I think what makes a good contractor a great contractor is how they deal with problems if and when they arise. I would still recommend Royal Decks to others despite our issues, in hopes that this review will help them improve their business.

Royal Decks is a great company and Miro and Steve are great guys to deal with. They did my deck on time and on budget. They fixed a couple of initial defects in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Just Happy with the work got some of the deck wood replaced and i just vary happy we need more companies to strive to make people happy. Everyone, This is the company for you when you need a deck.

Three years ago we had full double glazing done by Royal Decks. They were so professional and the end result was wonderful so when we were considering having our patio decked there was only one firm I felt confident enough to approach. I started with an old worn out patio needing constant jet washing to keep it looking ok but after Croston had spent a week taking away all the old flags and walls,putting down all the steel foundations and then laying the decking surrounded by a neat white rail and steps down to the garden area the end reult was amazing. The workmen were so professional and cleared away all rubbish leaving the patio a haven to look forward to if we ever get any nice weather. It is so easy to keep clean ,hard wearing and the difference it has made has to be seen to be believed. I would recommend this company to anyone who requires a quality professinal job at a very competative price.

I wanted a cedar deck to replace the original deck on my 1920s house, keeping the original look. Julian, the salesman, was very easy to work with. He arrived on time for meetings and quickly responded to my emailed questions about the quote. Steve did a great job building the deck. He always kept the work area clean and the deck ended up looking better than I had hoped.
