Reviews for Mobilia Interiors

After an exhaustive search of many of the high-end furniture stores in the area for a particular style of sectional sofa, we recently found what we were looking for at Mobilia Mississauga. Unfortunately, though it had to be special ordered with a potential 10 -12 week delivery. We decided to proceed anyway, but realized shortly after ward that our new furniture would be required much sooner and and it would be necessary to cancel the order and find an alternative. Much to our pleasant surprise, the store manager was very understanding and cooperative in refunding our down-payment the next day, which is not always the case with special order purchases. We commend this store for being so responsive to our situation and will not hesitate to shop there in the future.

The Good: I read all the negative reviews and was concerned that my wife wanted to buy a 4 piece sectional from them. I do woodwork as a hobby and was concerned about the construction of the sectional. After finding out who the actual manufacturer was (that was like pulling teeth) and also looking at the floor model construction I was satisfied that it was not poorly made. My wife ordered the leather she wanted and we were told that it would take about 6 months before it was made and ready. It came in about 6 months ( a little longer) and I was at home for the delivery. The contracted delivery guys were OK. They carried my pieces upstairs and placed them where I wanted them. I looked at the leather and it looked great, no damage or flaws. The BAD The sectional came with 2 electronic reclining seats (one was a lounger and the other the standard type of reclining chair). I went to plug them in to test them before I signed the OK paperwork that the delivery guys needed. The AC plugs were european not North American. I asked the guys if they left the adapters in the truck and they said it didnt come with any. So now I am pissed. I wait 6 months for sectional and I cant plug in the reclining chairs. The drivers calls Mobilia customer service and they say that it will be taken care of. I sign-off and drivers go. THE UGLY: Once the drivers are gone I look at the power supply rating that is on the underside of the recliner and notice that it is good for 110V to 230V. I think, great - all I need is a couple $2.00 adqaters from the local electronics store (converts european plug to NA plug). I go and buy 2 and plug the first one in and the longer works like a charm. Plug the second one in and nothing happens although I hear the motor running. I turn the chair over and see that the electronic piston assembly hinges are snapped off the chair on both ends. The hinge supports were made of plastic - totally ridculous! I call Mobilia and also send pictures (still same day as delivery). They already knew about the wrong plugs and I told them I had no way of knowing the recliner mnotor was damaged until I got the right plugs. I wait a couple of weeks for a service person (contracted but very helpful) to come out and look at the parts that I know are broken. He orders new parts through Mobilia - I wait 6 months for new part. New part is wrong part! It does not fit at all (not the contractors fault as he ordered the model number that was on the unit). He removes the old broken part and says that it will be sent away to ensure the right part comes. I wait another 4 or 5 months and part comes in minus the hinge pins that were removed from the old one. So I have the right part but not the hardware to install it! I looked at the pictures that I had on my PC from about a year before and said that they were pretty standard pins and locks that held the hinges in place. I said he could get them at Canadain Tire or PArts source. He got the OK from Mobilia to get me the pins from there (if they had not I would have told him to leave the motor with me and I would do dit myself...). He went got some pins, hooked it up and it worked... except..... the recliner foot rest would not come all the way out! I was about to snap! We turned the chair over again and we noticed that there were some wire rods that seemed to be preventing the chair from fully reclining. I said they looked like they were there to keep the unit secure during shipping. He was not sure but I said I would be back in a moment. I went to my workshop, got some heavy duty pliers and bent the rods of that were holding the footrest in place. We tried it out and it worked like a charm! After a year my sectional is now the way it should be! Would I buy from Mobilia again? Probably only if I bought something that they had in stock. There sales people are friendly (At least ours was) but they wipe their hands clean after the sale. Their customer service is poor.

Unfortunately, I did not read any reviews until after I had problems with this store. Please, if you read this do not deal with this company. I won't go into all the details (too long to write), to summarise, I never got the chairs that I bought and Mobilia, at all levels of the company, refuse to deal with the problem and will not refund my money. Luckily, I made the purchase through Visa and I have lodged a dispute and I am expecting a full refund (this can take up to 8 weeks). For me, this has been a huge learning exercise, and I hope that it wasn't too costly.

The quality for the price is extremely low. Mass produced furniture that get banged up when shipped from overseas. They get such a low price on the stuff that they write off all the damaged stuff. The prices are jacked up for the consumer because of this factor. Such a disappointment...I would never again shop at this story now that I am knowledgeable. Sure the pics on line look great until you get multiple defective pieces. Having to replace our items 3 times indicates that there is a major problem with the merchandise. Buyer beware....mobilia is a huge huge huge disappointment.

We were looking for a contemporary styie chaise for our new master bedroom seating area. We loved the look of this leather and chrome chaise which has a slim look and not bulky. We found one at Mobilia furnishing store , Markham and we ordered it. When we received it and brought it home we realized it had some oily stains on the leather. we took it back to the store and were promissed to get a new one shortly after. It took many calls and a few months, call to the warehouse, manegers, etc. until they said they have a new one for us. We picked it up, sterted using it and after a short while the stains appeared again. Apparently they did not get a new one for us but somehow covered the stains which was good only temporarily. We never pusued it further but we know they were not honest with us. This store has some very nice pieces of furnitures but you have to be cautious with their service, it is bad.

THE WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Never shop here. Bought a couch and did not custom order because we read the reviews of how long it took. Made sure the model we wanted was in stock before paying for the sectional. When our sectional came in, we decided to pick it up ourselves rather than use delivery. Issues we had: Financing option. We decided to finance the purchase rather than make a full payment. Mobilia does their financing option through Desjardins. Our saleswoman, Reshma, did not provide us enough detail on how this process would work. We filled out a form but had to go in on three separate occasions because she failed to inform us of all the documentation we would need to provide. We finally got it straight when we ourselves called the financing company. We made one more trip with all the necessary documents - only to find out that an additional one was needed. Why could she not have told us from the beginning what was needed to process financing? Anyway, at this point we were sick of all these trips to the store and decided to pay it all in full. Which we SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO DO because as customers we have the financing option. I feel like the system is set up in a way to reject financing so that they can get the entire sum up front. After making the full payment, Reshma basically shoved us out the door without clarifying/stating details about picking up our furniture. It felt like now that she had the money, it really didn’t matter what happened to us and the purchase. She failed to communicate to us that their warehouse is closed on Sundays AND only open until 3:30 Monday to Saturday - DESPITE the fact that we were discussing in front of her when we would arrange to pick it up. After a failed attempt at picking up our furniture because the warehouse was closed, I went to go speak with Reshma. She basically blamed me as a customer for not knowing when the warehouse was open and accepted no responsibility and essentially yelled at me. When I asked for my money back, she told me all sales are final and there was nothing that she could do - which we were never previously told. When I told her this was a poor customer service experience, explained the reviews online, and told her I would never shop at the store again, her exact words were “That’s fine. I don’t care.” What sales representative would ever say that?? She offered no help, no other options, accepted zero responsibility and did not apologize for anything. She did not care about that fact that we spent a lot of our time making trips to the store for financing, and now for pick-up, and was not at all sympathetic at the inconveniences we had to go through. I’ve received better service at a McDonalds. Why is a warehouse for pickups only open until 3:30 during the week and CLOSED on Sundays? Who is picking up furniture in the morning and afternoons during the week? I would rather they be open on the weekends and evenings to allow accessibility for their customers. Again, it feels like they are forcing the delivery option onto customers. As another reviewer mentioned, the salespeople here really are sleazy used car salesmen, especially Reshma. She hyped up financing when we were considering making a purchase but did not bring it up at time of payment. We had to make a deposit first - which I guess would have been non-refundable if the financing didn’t go through - which I doubt it ever does. Do yourself a favour, do not shop at this store. Even by being careful about what we bought, we've still had to deal with awful customer service.

I ordered my uphosterled headboard/footboard and rails on July 16h is a custom fabric. I was told approx. 12 to 14 weeks, whic would bring me to October 22nd. I ordered a custom order couch on July 20th. I was told approx. 10 weeks. I have not received any feedback from the salesperson I worked with. I have constantly had to track her down and ask for updates. She indicated over and over again that it was too early to check on the status and she would get back to me. I called a couple times and the recepionist put me on hold several times, never telling me that my salesperson was with a customer. Just called again today and the manager has indicated that my sofa order is not scheudled to arrive until the first week of October and delivery sometime affer, which is beyond the 10 weeks. His customer service was terrible and he was very unaccommodating or understanding of my frsutrations. My bed is not scheduled to arrive until the end of October - which I have been sleeing without a bed for over two months and now it looks like it will be over three months. The bed is scheduled to arrive beyond the 12-14 week timeline. The are unable to compensate me for my delays and they are very bad in customer service/communication with clients. I have never received such poor service when purchasing furniture. After I receive my furniture, I will never go back to them again. Think twice about going to Mobilia.

after many visits to several stores I only liked the sectional, chairs and accessories from mobilia but I was afraid to buy from them due to so many poor reviews. I decided to buy colors they had in stock, no special order. I received the products in a week, delivery, installation were punctual, respectful, no issues. The sales person was excellent and let me chose without pressure. I am glad I gave them a chance. My room look really great and I am going back to buy a king bed this week.
