I received 5 estimates from reputable roofers. 4 were given either by phone or dropped in my mailbox. The other estimates stated a 5yr warranty, while Mega City had 10yr (They also had WSIB). Tom & Chantal visited, went on the roof, described in detail the scope of work, and gave me an estimate which was in the same ballpark as the others. I have always been sceptical with contractors (past experience), but Tom changed all that. Tom and his team which included a 50 yr veteran in roofing,arrived as scheduled, did the job exactly as described (with a couple of extras), cleaned up and left.I was impressed with the morale of the team, the quality of work,the overall attention to detail and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!. I didn't really expect Mega City to live up to its reputation as depicted on homestars.ca but figured if they even came close, I'd be happy. However, Tom and his crew did indeed do an outstanding job on my roof. I would recommend Mega City Roofing to anybody based on my experience.

Here are a few comments: (1) The workers didn't clean up the roof very carefully before they put on the tar paper for the new one. (2) Towards the end, they ran out of the water-proof membrane for ice and water. Tom instructed them to put on two layers of tar paper and told me it's the same. (3) Tom didn't buy the workers lunch at noon. I asked Tom several times about this and Tom said they would have food after the work is finished. They finished the work until 4:30 pm without food. (4) The roof wasn't entirely cleaned up. There were still some nails and other garbage left over. It was the same on the ground.

Dear Charles, Your 2 star review comes to a shock to us after you telling us we did A wonderful job. You were told many times to get off the roof because you were distracting the crew and interfering with the installation of the new roof all day long. Before the shingles were applied the roof deck was swept clean before insulation of new shingles. Also Clean up was done best as possible due to your extremely long grass. As for lunch we do not buy our employees lunch everyday. The CREW decided to eat after the job was done. You walked around the perimeter of your home with Tom and agreed everything looked great and even the shingles looked wonderful after installation. We all left that day thinking everything was great. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority you should have mentioned this to Tom before the crew left that day and Tom would have taken care of it ASAP. Sincerely, Mega City Roofing

We hired Tom a few weeks ago to replace our old tar and gravel flat roof. Like all the other “Mega City fans” that are listed here, we thoroughly enjoyed working with Tom and his crew on this project. They did a professional job, from beginning to end. We enjoyed Tom’s enthusiasm and his pride in the work that he undertakes. Very refreshing! And Tom believes in adding value to his work. During the course of project, Tom and his crew made repairs to the roof beyond the scope of the job. Thanks Tom. You and your crew are the best!

Tom and his crew did a fantastic job of reomoving two layers of old shingles, and installing new shingles andn new roof vents and flashing. His crew took only five hours for the entire job...including cleanup. I had very little dirt to cleanup afterwards, except for sweeping my front steps. Amazing! Also I was home for the entire time..and the noise level was far less than I expected. Tom had warned me to remove pictures or mirrors from the upstairs walls...I need not have bothered. The house never even shook! The pictures I did leave up..did not move a centimetre. Good job all around..and I will recommend this company to friends in Toronto.

Tom did two jobs on my house - one flat roof on an addition and another roof which had leaking problems. Tom did the jobs well, stuck to his quotes and was thoroughly pleasant to work with. He takes pride in his work, which I appreciate. I have no hesitation in recommending Mega City.

Tom and crew from Mega City Roofing replaced my old tar and gravel 8' x 11' flat roof in November '06. Tom was very pleasant, easy to deal with, professional, easy to reach and very prompt. I appreciated that he was able to come out on a weekend to look at the roof so that I did not have to take time off work. He and his crew worked efficiently and effectively to replace the roof. They did the job in the half day time that was promised. I was fully informed about the methods and materials that would be used to complete the job. Everything was presented to me upfront and I felt that I got good value and high quality service. At the end of the job all of the garbage was removed - it was like they were never there. Thanks.

Very good experience. They actually redid messed up work from pervious roofer. Redid all the messed up bits and peices, stripped off 5 layers of old roof to provide me with a proper roof.

My neighbour and I spent a full week getting quotes from about seven different roofing companies for our semi-detached homes. Tom was the only one who took the time to explain in great detail everything he would be doing and why (and was also one of the few who did not try to use scare tactics). His customer service was amazing - he answered all questions and addressed all concerns immediately. Because he owns the business himself, he takes great pride in his work and is actually one of the people up there on your roof doing the work. (We found that many of the other companies contract out their services). He was on time, the price he quoted was right on, he did extra work that he did not charge us for, he brought me up on the roof to show me exactly what was being done, and the clean up was perfect. I can't recommend him highly enough! Thanks Tom!

Another mega-satisfied customer. We hired Tom and his crew a couple of weeks ago to re-roof our house and garage. Tom came by the same day I called for an estimate. He was very pleasant and gave us a great price. He also said the garage needed done, something I never mentioned to any of the contractors, just to see if they would notice. Tom called when he couldn't come as scheduled because of rain, and showed up right on time on the day we thought would be better. He and his crew worked in rather chilly conditions, but it never slowed them down. I was amazed at how quickly they completed the project. They were all very pleasant and left behind a clean work site. I would not hesitate to recommend Mega City Roofing - in fact, I already have! Keep up the good work, Tom.
