Another renovation, another success! After a couple of years of planning, we decided to fully renovate the ground floor of our 30 year old home. While no structural work was involved in this 4 month project, pretty much everything else was. Jeff's team took care of moving interior walls, electrical, plumbing, insulation, ventilation, flooring and tiling. Jeff was always available, and always made sure I was involved and knew what the next steps were. His team (Chris) and sub-contractors (Mark) are reliable, knowledgable and very professional. While the kitchen was designed by another firm, Jeff's team worked hand in hand with designers and installers to ensure that there were no last minute issues and that all the plan came together. This was our second major renovation with Jeff and we had 100% confidence going into the project that we were in good hands and they did not let us down.

We had developed a water issue in our front entry hall. Jeff provided a quick repsonse with professional advice. He got to the project very quickly and provided excellent suggestions when issues arose. The project while not large was tricky given the age of the house. Jeff and his team were fast and always left a clean work area, with no mess in or around the house.

We first met Jeff in the Spring of 2010. My wife and I were just beginning a major whole-house renovation in Caledon when we discovered some serious cracks in the foundation. After a couple of contractors suggested repairs costing over $100K, or simply demolishing the house to start over, I asked Jeff to come by and take a look. He agreed that the problems were serious but not to panic until he had his engineer come by and see if they could come up with a cost-effective solution. We immediately liked his approach and he did deliver a solution that solved the problem and gave us a stable foundation with a completely dry basement. The work was done quickly and his team kept the site clean. I’m pretty comfortable with construction and renovation, and was pretty picky in terms of making sure the work was done correctly, and Jeff’s crew never disappointed me. Needless to say we asked Jeff to return the following spring and put a new addition onto our house for a combination mud room and laundry. They also replaced all of the old windows and doors across the back of the house. We are renovating a house from the 50’s and the work done by the previous owners ranged from poor to comical to dangerous. As we opened up walls and found problems they were fixed to exceed local building codes. Never once was it suggested that the problem be covered up and they always reviewed the issue and what had to be done to correct it. We now have a very functional rear entrance to our house and an addition that looks like it was always there. The stucco exterior work is first class (thanks Lucas!) and friends and neighbours have commented on how much better our house looks. Our next project was to complete the exterior and windows across the front as well as renovate half of the inside of our bungalow, including a new kitchen. We have some budget pressure this year and Jeff also was very busy in the city and was not sure how much attention he could give to the entire project out in Caledon. We agreed that I would manage the construction phase – Jeff told me that I would not have a problem serving as my own general contractor – and Jeff’s team would complete the exterior stucco and install the kitchen. The exterior has transformed the look of the house and Lucas did an amazing job blending it into his work from the previous summer. Jeff was very helpful throughout the construction and gave me plenty of advice when I faced various challenges along the way. But Jeff was always bragging about the kitchens he has installed and that he was most proud of this work. He did not disappoint. My wife made the majority of decisions on the cabinets, counter-top and fixtures and Jeff gave us his experience on what would work and how to avoid problems. His estimate for delivery was only off by a few days and the final bill did not exceed his quote. The kitchen transformation was amazing and the cabinets that Jeff helped us select are high-end with features that we did not think we could afford. The quality is first rate as was the attention to detail and craftsmanship by his people. My wife has the kitchen of her dreams. I highly recommend J. Roberts & Associates to anyone looking for a general contractor for small or major home renovations.

I hired Jeffrey to install ceiling fans over the summer. Despite the fact that our ceilings are pure concrete, he and his assistant installed the fans, cord covers, and the wall switches without any problems. He was on time, courteous, and answered all our questions. Jeffrey is on my short list of preferred contractors if friends and family need work done.

Excellent work. I have only great things to say about Jeffrey and his team. We found Jeffrey after months of being let down by every single other contractor we called. Our kitchen remained in a state of limbo until Jeffrey saved us. We needed what we thought was a simple fix: to remove our under-cabinet range hood, patch the old hole, and install the new chimney-style model we bought. No one we called prior to Jeffrey was able or willing to do the job. But for Jeffrey and his team, this was not a challenge. Jeffrey and his team were able to patch the hole professionally with insulation and matching exterior brick (unlike the suggestion to stuff the hole with towels and put plywood over it which another contractor recommended, if you can believe that!). Once the job was underway, we realized we hadn’t planned our range hood purchase as well as we had thought and we needed Jeffrey to save us once again in order to fit the length of the chimney to the ceiling. This meant taking out an old bulkhead, which Jeffrey hadn’t planned for. And taking out the old bulkhead meant we created a hole that now has to be patched. Another unplanned addition. Oh, and the contractor I had scheduled to do the very intricate backsplash tiling has now cancelled. Jeffrey came to the rescue again. With all the changes and addtions, Jeffrey and his team never complained, sighed, or looked at me sideways. They were happy to help until we were completely happy and satisfied. I’ve had other trades people come to visit and when they look at the work Jeffrey and his team did, they are impressed. Everyone who sees the work Jeffrey and his team did is really impressed. Jeffrey’s team’s work is truly excellent. The team is clean, polite, respectful, and really down to earth. It’s not a stretch so say Jeffrey and his team saved us. I can’t imagine what we would have done without him. We are definitely having Jeffrey and his team back next year to reno our bathroom.

After completeing a beautiful job on our main floor in 2008, we hired Jeff and company again to handle our master suite reno. He did not disappoint. Careful attention to detail and responsive to all of our requests and changes. His crew takes pride in their work and ensured our complete satisfaction.

Our basement renovation exceeded our expectations. From the first phone call through the end of the project Jeff proved himself to be honest, reliable, conscientious and knowledgeable. His team was punctual, professional and provided a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness. We could not be happier with the end result.

Jeff Roberts built the second floor on our existing brick building. This expansion has doubled the space from 2,600 sq.ft. to 5,200 sq.ft. total. He has engaged excellent companies for roofing, rough carpentry, stucco, windows, drywalling, painting, parquet flooring, electricians, radiant heat in the floor and plumbing services. He installed 3 central vacuums, bathroom and kitchen, two staircases, two 11 feet doors, roof access and two skylights.
