After completing some major renovations to the house I was planning for landscaping work for the 2012 spring. I had to get the 30 year old driveway and crumbling concrete patio resurfaced before I could re-sod my lawn. I was starting ahead so as to line up a good contractor to begin work as soon as the weather permitted in the spring so that I had enough time to put the grass next year. Given the size of the driveway and extended walkways with several steps and large patio areas on the back of the house, I was initially planning to get the driveway resurfaced with asphalt and interlock for the rest of the area. I obtained a number of quotes from several companies that are favorably rated on Home-stars and Duralock was one of them. For me to figure out what resurfacing would be most cost effective for different areas I had asked each of the companies to give me quotes such that I could pick and choose the area that I could get done within my budget and defer the rest for later years or even consider cheaper alternative for the driveway. I was in for a surprise when Duralock gave me a very competitive quote for the entire work that too with a promise to complete the work this year. I went around to a number of houses they had worked on and even talked to the owners to find out how their project was handled. I am completely satisfied with the work Duralock has done. It is the attention to details, and most importantly the attention that they pay to prepare the base that makes all the difference. When it comes to interlock the time and effort that is put in laying a sound base is all that matters. This is one item that no one sees. Most just see the surface work and the beauty of the surface is half the pavers and half the skill. Tony was very professional and courteous in the initial design and pricing. Given the size of the project, there were items that were verbally discussed. At no stage did we find any one reneging from what was agreed to and therefore all the elements that were discussed and then some were delivered in the most professional manner. Johny and his crew did an amazing job. The entire crew was very polite and courteous. Their patience was beyond expectation especially when we would have them redo some of the curves and alter design on the go. I believe it was a mutually rewarding experience. Duralock had the manpower and the skills to materialize our grand vision. Not only was there no scope creep but they ended up delivering more than what they had promised to ensure that the overall quality was top notch. I have no hesitation in recommending Duralock and am open to share my experience with anyone who would like to see it for themselves. In the end, I believe it is a partnership between the contractor and the homeowner that leads to successful projects. The sooner one can establish a mutual trust the better the outcome. Duralock has all the abilities and the right attitude to establish such a partnership.

Tony and his crew stunned the neighbourhood with there quality of work. The entire crew's work ethics were outstanding! From the sales manager (TONY) that we signed our job with to the promises that were kept on his side, to the crew working bright and early everyday until the job was complete. what impressed us including our entire neighborhood was how they cleaned up and didnt go home until the streets were cleaned to ensure none of our neighbors were inconvenienced! They were open to changes half way through the project which involved more work on them. Overall, there work was absolutely perfect! and when we called them back for minor changes later on in the summer someone was at our house the same week at our request doing what we needed to keep us happy. There are plenty of amazing contractors out there. At the risk of making this review sound like an advertisement for Duralock, I must express my sincere gratitude to Duralock's team for achieveing a final product that's as close to my vision (more importantly my wife's vision) as a Contractor can get. It all started with a detailed meeting with Tony (their salesman) at my kithcen table where we sketched out the project, discussed materials, discussed what issues were more importantto me than others. I am a professional engineer and know a few things about structural integerity of construction rather than just the looks. Our house has a walkout basement and there ia approximately 7 feet grade difference. We wanted to put in steps on the side of the house for easier access to the back yard but was quite concerned that if not constructed properly, the soil under the steps could erode with water and all the steps would shift. Jonny (the working Manager as he decribed himself) really understood my cincerns and took specific steps to ensure the engineer in me was satisfied. The punctuality and effieciency of the crew was admirable. Jonny was in constant conversation with me throughout each facet of the work, which I really appreciated as I was able to provide direct input into the final finsihes on little things like curves, edges, borders, etc. The work included capping a concrete porch and steps provided by the builder with flasgtone and coping. We couldn't be more pleased with the final product. The quality of their work is top notch. The work was done within the time frame originally anticipated. I really appreciated that they hounored my request to make sure that the street infront of the house was not blocked to local traffic at anytime (one of my pet peeves with a lot of contractors doing work in our area), and that it was cleaned at the end of each work day. Oh, by the way, there hasn't been a need for any follow up since all the work was done as intended (this is a first for me, having coped with numerous visits with the last two house builders!), but I am confindent that these guys would make it a priortiy if any followup was required. Thanks Tony and Johnny for really listening to me an my wife and execute the work to your best ability!

I am extremely happy with the work carried out by John and his team. I had my driveway, side yard, and backyard patio done in November. We chose DuraLock after seeing some of their high quality works done in our neighbourhood -- and it proved to be a great choice. The quality is just great -- and we were especially impressed with their professionalism and courtesy. Johny would generously offer additional design suggestions, and implement them after full explanation and consultation with us - even when those changes means more work on their side. I didn't have the best house on the street, but after the project was complete, we instantly became the clear envy of the neibourhood -- and we got it done with a very very reasonable price. In sharp contrast with the grumpy impression you would expect from other contractors, Johny always greet you with his smile and wonderful charisma that makes the whole process a very pleasant experience. When the project required coordination with neighbours, Johny would stand up and bring everyone to agreement. With you work with Johny, you are in the win-win! Their post-project service and follow-up are apparently excellent -- when we called with requests after project completion, we were immediately assured that they would send someone to do it to our satisfaction. They did what they said -- Johny himself brought some of his people back and got everything done. If you thinking about having your interlocking done -- take Johny's DuraLock team, and I am sure you would be as happy as I am.

It was in May We started to discuss our front yard design with Duralock. All the way until September, Jony has been sweet and patient with all our changes and modifications while offering his opinions and knowledge on stones and interlock. Our job finally got started in the middle of September. And we were very pleased to meet his team. What we really appreciated is this team actually took pride in their work. And this guy, Paul, was like an artist cutting the stones with such fastidiously smoothness. Everyday we walk in and out, and those smooth curves remind us a great team who has done a great job. We have many people come by and asked who has done the yard work for us. Always I spell the company name, Duralock, for them. And I'm sure they will be happy customers too if they choose Duralock.

Although we were plagued with delays (due to weather and busy season), the team at duralock did a great job. Our front walkway & back patio were completed in 2 days, and the team cleaned up after themselves.

We selected Duralock based on reviews on Homestar and a neigbbour's recommendation. Initially, we were sceptical of the authencity of the reviews on Homestar as they all appear to be too favorable. Well, our interlocking was completed after 2 days and well, we have joined the previous reviewers in lauding the services of Duralock. They showed up slightly ahead of time and finished the job to our total satisfaction! What really struck us was the teamwork that Duralock brought to the job. Everyone on the team was courteous and friendly and despite a bitterly cold day and heavy work, laughed and joked and appeared genuinely happy with what they do. Like any organization, it starts at the top and it is easy to see why this team functioned so efficiently and professionally -Leadership! Jony (part owner) has consistently showed that he is passionate in his work and goes the extra distance to deliver a job beyond what the customer expects. Apart from a better design from our original plan, wider footpath and an extra (no charge) diamond design on the driveway, Joni evened extended one step (which was too narrow) even though the stones were glued and installed. Full credit to Jony's team as well. They maintained a friendly and courteous working environment among themselves but more important for the homeowner. It is easy to see why Duralock has such high rating. 10 out of 10! Thank you Jony and team!

Big thanks to Tony and his team for excellent-excellent work they have done for our driveway, walkway and backyard porch. They helped us all the way to chooing the material, designs and other options. Their workmanship and expertise in this profession is excellent. Big wow from our relatives and neighbours. We contacted Duralock as a result of the comments made on Home Stars and were very happy with end result. Tony and his crew were extremely professional and they pay attention to very small detail. For instance we did not ask for double border in the driveway but Tony gave us double border without extra cost and it looks beautiful.The quality of the work was exceptional. As promised Tony and his team were completed the project within three days. The crew of 8-10 people were courteous and pleasant. We were also impressed that they cleaned up daily. The work has made a great improvement in the appearance of our home and we would highly recommend Duralock.

I would like to give Jony and Tony and their crew a 9.99 out of 10. The project we had done in July 2011 is front, covered porch, 4 feet walk way and 18X18 back patio, 2 level garden box. I talked to patterned concrete, pro-concrete and the ones listed in BBB rated as A and above. among all the contractors and review homestars, and the prvious projects Duralock has done, I decided to go with Duralocking. Pro: 1) Very committed crew, I talked to every and each of crew members and realized all of them have worked with jony for at least 5 years, and they LOVE what they do!!! Sometimes I bought coffee for them, whenever Jony saw, he will ask them to say "Thank you". I can tell how well they work together as a fun, commiiteed group of professionals 2) Always go for over and beyond, my frontyard was estimated to build 5 steps and a landing step, when Tony (he is the EXPERT ) came and after discussion with Jony, they decided to build 5 steps straight from porch and landing and 3 steps to garage and 2 steps to backyard), this is so much more than estimated, of course, I paid for extra material and work they need to do, but after the work is done, this is FAR beyond then we expected and wowed my neighbor. I think they are willing to take extra steps to make client happy and show they long-term commitmment to their business. 3)We loved the decision we made, interlocking is absolutely stunning, it's not like stamped concrete (shiny) but gave the variety in neighborhood. Everytime we pass any house has stamped concrete, if it's from Patterned Concrete, you can tell immediately, they look SAME!! 4) After the work, because my drive was damaged during the work (all heavy lifting on my driveway and bricks etc), Jony paid a professional to fix my driveway this Sept. 5) Jony willing to honor me couple of things I discussed with Sales, such as soil in my garden box. He even approach me and my neighbor to connect our pipes under walkway, so drainage won't have negative impact in future.(Well, Jony ask for small money to cover his cost but eventually he gave me for free because he believed that's right thing to connect our pipes.) Con: 1) Since I give 9.99 out of 10 in the beginning, I think there is always a room to improve. My project was estimated to start at early-Mid June because we have a guest from overseas, but unfortunately, the project has to start early July due to weather and other unforeseeable reasons. But Tony gave me a call before the project starting date firmed up, and gave me the option to refund. I am happy I didn't ask for refund and cancel the project. I think at the end, Jony mentioned to me (and I think it's perfectly correct), interlocking project is not a laser operation, as a customer, you shall leave their crew do what they have to do, they may look idle becuase they may wait for some material to come in, on the site, it can be dusty, if you have lots of curve in your design and they need to cut the bricks, etc. To be a patient and good customer, tell Jony what you want or ask for his opinions, hopefully your project will WOW and I think your chance is pretty high if you choose to work with Duralock.
