I had a huge birch which was dead and needed taken down as well as pruning on two very large silver maples and some other trees as well. The team from Derek's led by arborist Peter did an amazing job. Arriving early everyday they completed the work in a couple of days and left the yard looking great. Climbing trees is dangerous work and should be left to pros like Peter. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the job and would not hesitate to hire them again or refer them to others. Thanks Peter and your assistants as well who did a great job.

These guys are pros! They showed up early to the job, got it done quickly and even had a good sized team that worked together to get it done quickly. All in all, it was 30 minutes to do something I thought would take about an hour, and they were extremely nice to work with. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a professional tree removal service at a great price.

I called Derek based on high ratings he received from the HomeStars site. He responded promptly and came that Sunday at 10am (as promised) for an estimate. During his visit, he gave me a very good price for removing two tall trees & stumps from my back yard. On agreed day, he showed up at 8:30am (again, exactly as promised) with a crew of 6 people, 3 trucks and 2 machines. I expected this work to last the whole morning, due to numerous power, telephone and cable TV wires, but these guys were done by 10am, after only 1.5 hrs. It was impressive to watch how professionally and efficiently they worked as a team. They removed all the wood from my backyard and cleaned the area. You have an option to keep the wood or to have them remove it. Great work by Derek's Tree Service – I highly recommend them, 10+ ! They are #1 on HomeStars for a reason.

I was really pleased with the services provided by Derek's company. The trees were cut down in less than a week after we first contacted Derek. Excellent customer service and a great job done by 2 professional guys (the maple branch was situated about 1 foot above the shed roof, they did not even touch the roof). Last year we used Homestars to find Derek's Tree service to remove two large and unsightly spruce trees from our front yard. In addition, Derek helped us understand the overgrown mess of fruit trees we inherited when we bought our house. Derek lived up to all the Homestars reviews and we were very pleased with his work. So much so, that we didn’t think twice before calling him again this spring to remove several of the fruit trees from our property. On both occasions, Derek provided reasonable estimates, showed up on time, and his team worked efficiently to remove the trees. He certainly has been a big help to us, and many of our neighbours commented that they were impressed with the work his team performed for us. I would highly recommend Derek to anyone who needs help with tree removal!

After LARGE stump was ground down. I opted for a DIY clean up. I noticed several high root sections that had been covered up by chips. After a phone call, Derek's guys came back wihin a few days and finished off the job. Great customer service.

If you don't use Derek's Tree Service, good luck. If all my projects went as smoothly as my tree/stump removal I'd have more hair on my head and less gray in my beard. Derek came by our house, sized up the tree and had a quote in less than a minute. After talking it over with my wife we called him up and he was back in a few days to remove the tree. Derek and crew arrived on time, were very quick, professional and cleaned up real nice. My removal was a bit tricky as our driveway expansion required this 30+ year old tree be removed and the stump grinded down so the paving company could do their work. Derek assured us that if the paving guys had any issues with the leftovers, call him back and he will clean up any leftovers, no extra charge. Well, there was a small issue, no fault of Derek's, it was just the way our lawn was leveled. I called Derek up again and within 30 mins he was back and took care of the remaining stump. Now, the reason he was so quick was because he was in the area, but he easily could have put me off for a few more days. Derek really came through and made previous jobs top priority along with his current jobs. I can't say enough good things about him. He seems to be a die hard Leaf's fan, that might be the only thing wrong with him :) Anyways, thanks Derek and crew. Too bad I can't use you more often.

Derek and his team were very courteous, friendly and professional. They completed the work in half the time.
