Complete backyard transformation

View Member ProfileWe had been putting off finishing our overgrown backyard for a couple of years now, mostly because I was having trouble finding a landscaper I wanted to work with. When I met Ian he was so easy to talk to and knowledgeable I knew he was the right person for the job. Then we got to work with Sylvie who did the drawings, Joel and his crew who leveled the ground and meticulously added the stone and grass, as well as Jude and her crew who advised us on what to plant, everyone involved was really professional, friendly and took pride in their work. We were concerned about the dryer vent being underneath the stairs but Joel knew exactly how to fix that for us, it was such a relief. We were so pleased with the work they did, we have received so many compliments, we are truly the envy of the neighbourhood. Everyone is waiting for the weather to get warmer so they can come over for a bbq. Our backyard is finally the beautiful oasis we've always dreamed of. Thanks Curbz!

Front and Side Yard - Retaining wall, Walkway, Front Porch, Water Drainage System
Angela in ScarboroughIan and his folks did an amazing job on my front and side yard! Right from the start, we felt very comfortable with Ian. He presented us with several options that totally worked within our budget and more importantly made the MOST of our budget! He also impressed us because his crew actually finished on schedule and on-budget (when does that ever happen)! His crew, from Sylvie who designed the front yard to Joel and Dave who did all the stone work and Jude who created the front garden - were all amazing and super easy to work with! Special kudos to Joel and Dave who recreated the front and side yard of my house with all the lovely stonework they did! They basically ripped everything out and rebuilt it! I now have a beautiful front retaining wall with an elegant and inviting curved entrance way to my stunning walkway which leads up to the front porch that they also rebuilt! Everything now looks unified and simply gorgeous! And did I fail to mention, I LOVE the stonework - Joel and Dave worked their magic on a challenging project as my house sits on a slope and isn't exactly square to the sidewalk, but they were able to make everything look perfect! They also did the work on the water drainage system on the side of the house which was very well thought out because it basically created an irrigation system for the front garden and back yard - a total bonus! Lastly, Jude did an amazing job with the planting. She created a beautiful perennial garden with lots of colour and texture that will bloom all season long! But more importantly, the plants are easy to take care of and maintain as I am a novice gardener! I can't wait for the spring to see the garden come to life! Many thanks to Ian and his crew for the amazing job they did! Total worth every penny!! I would gladly recommend Curbz to anyone!

New Fence
Judy in North YorkWe had a ranch style wooden fence for many years around our corner lot. After years of maintenance, it was time for the fence to come down and we wanted something new with little maintenance. Ian had the plan and suggestions for materials. Joel and Dave took down the old fence and put up the new iron fence. We are thrilled with the new look. Our property was spotless the entire time work was going on. Our thanks to Ian, Joel and Dave! We would definitely call Ian again when we need some landscaping done.

Retaining wall with fence around backyard
M&M in The BeachIan and his team recently completed a large retaining wall and fence project for us (50' ft long by 6' high). The finished result in amazing. All my neighbours have commented on the quality of the finished product. Joel was the contractor on the job. The craftmanship was excellent, the job was completed on budget, within the timelines, and at an earlier start date than anticipated. The service was great. Even some of my neighbours commented that the staff was exceptionally curteous to them. Joel even took an hour out of his time to help my neighbour get into her car (she had locked in her toddler with the keys). I would highly recommend Curbz to any of my friends or family members. Great job!! PS: If their quote ends up being above another quote, the service and quality of the work will more than likely make up for it.

Front walkway, driveway and landscaping

Full backyard renovation - a transformation from 1933 space to modern day oasis
Paula in TorontoIan and his Curbz team were the very best. I had interviewed a number of landscaping companies - big and small - and each came back with ideas that did not marry with what I was looking for. I had explained to each of them how I would use the space; had described in detail what I could afford; and asked each of them for their feedback. The responses were not always what I was looking for. In fact one had said that my space was "too small" to bother with. Then, just when I thought I would be stuck with my boring, small, tired and dated space, Ian and Curbz Landscaping came to my backyard. Ian was honest and comfortable to work with. He explained in detail how it could work, what his team could do and how they were a full service company (they fixed my garden too!) I had a finite budget that I could work with and Ian and his team made it all come together - on time and on budget. Ian and his team were very VERY professional. And each member of the team took pride in the work that they were doing. And most important of all, my space was NOT too small for them to work with. I have worked with trades people before and always with a source of frustration. This is not the case with Curbz. It started with the plan which was customized to my needs. Then the team came in to execute the plan - Team Joel- were FANTASTIC. They came to the site on time and worked ALL day every day until the project was done and forgive me if I repeat myself, but it was done ON TIME. Ian did something many of the others that came to look at my space did not do - he listened. In addition, he made some experienced recommendations and coordinated everything. Ian and his team introduced me to some of the newest landscaping products on the market; they made tweaks as they went along - as they wanted everything perfect. And everything was done with perfection - even the boring things such as working through the contract - fair, honest and professional. I am now the proud owner of a Curbz Landscaping project. I am even more proud to show it off. I have left my promotional sign up as I'm happy to answer any questions about my experience with Curbz. I have a family member who is a Professional Civil Engineer and he was beyond impressed with the structural elements of the project that Curbz did and THAT is telling in itself. My small space is beautiful and useful, but it is also to code and structurally sound. If you are getting frustrated and can't find a landscaping company that is talented and competitively priced - call Curbz. You will not be disappointed.

- Cubz is a unique company in the fact that they really are customer focused. But know your budget, be realistic with your budget and be honest about your budget. Curbz is a talented company but they need customers who are honest about what they want to get done and how much they have to get it done. Curbz can make great recommendations, so do your budget.
Landscaping of front and back lawn
Patrick in TorontoVery pleased with the service we received from Curbz. House looks so much better. The crew works extremely hard, morning until night. They dug out all of our weeds, dug down into the soil, brought in new soil, smoothed it out, sodded both yards, repaired our front portch, planted trees, gave us tips on maintenance. Could not be happier. I highly recommend Curbz.

Stonework - verandah,driveway and landscaping design

Complete overhaul of backyard
Our backyard is incredible! | TP in East yorkAfter seeing a friend's landscaping done by Curbz, we contacted Ian to provide a concept and quote for our lumpy, uneven backyard. We thought Curbz would be challenged to provide a design with no grass, and several options for shade - but we loved the very first design they provided. It was a big job, and it was done quickly and efficiently during two weeks in the fall. The team at Curbz was so dedicated that they finished our deck on some very cold mid-December days after an unforseen delay from one of our suppliers (independent from Curbz) had us in a panic. Everything stayed within budget! Ian and the team at Curbz are courteous, responsible and take pride in their work. We love our backyard and will be using Curbz again to complete all the planting in the spring.

backyard with swimming pool complete renovation
Curbz Landscaping was the best | Barry Silverstein in OakvilleIan and his crew were extremely profesional, courteous, knowledgable, and punctual. The project was started and finished as promised, and we were always kept up to date on any recommended changes and /or adjustments that needed to be made. the crew was here every morning on time, and often worked till into the early eavening. We are extremely satisfied on the final results, would and have already recommended Curbz as the company of choice. We have already asked and have hired Ian again, to do another project this spring. we will post pictures this coming spring.
