    Highly recommend Buttons Heating

High efficiency, Trane gas furnace and Trane XL15i heat pump Replaced electric furnace and central air with a Trane, 2 stage and a XL15i Heat pump. Salesman (Gord) very knowledgeable and not pushy. Spent 2-3 hours with us explaining options/warranty/pricing. Installation very professional and clean. Had to call regarding a minor service issue and Buttons showed up that morning. Had 4 different quotes and Buttons was not the cheapest, but I went with them because of referrals and I am glad I did.

Furnace, Heat Pump, Tankless Water Heater Initial consultation professional, punctual, and informative with Rick Lawson. No pressure to make a decision on purchase immediately. Installation by Mike and crew went well except a window in the basement was cracked during the process. However a remedy for the problem was easily agreed upon. I must give them credit for their response time to correct any problems. About 1 month after the installation of the tankless, it started to malfunction and the "motherboard" needed to be replaced. They were quick to respond and correct the problem. Also the external thermometer needed to be moved because it was installed in the direct sunlight for the heat pump and likewise they were quick to respond and correct.

Overall a good experience so far.

Highly Recommended - Steve : THANK YOU!

    MLeiva, Richmond hill

Furnance and humidifier Steve Thomas showed us, that there is also "professional and good customer service" in the HVAC Industry. We had only dealt with Embridge and what a nightmare!
He came to our place in the middle of this winter's only snow storm! I was impressed on the most HONEST, clear and professional advice he gave us which was greatly appreciated and solve our "nightmare"
For now when we are ready to replace our furnance, we will be calling Button's for sure!.
I have already spread the word to all my friends and family to call them should they ever need a heating Company.

I would gladly give them 11+ rating .
    Keep up the good work

    THank you

    Great people. Hire without hesitation.

    Furnace, water heater, air con+ Summary/Details/Room for Improvement/Things I learned/Overall

Summary: Button’s is a great company. They have a ton of integrity. Great people. Great products. Excellent sales experience. Would recommend without hesitation.

    Details:
Mine was a big purchase (for me): a top of the line high efficiency furnace, filter system, thermostat, humidifier, power vent, water heater and an air conditioner hookup.

I did a ton of research for this job. The net was really helpful narrowing down reviews and feedback about brands of furnaces and types of water heaters. I spent a lot of time reading contractors talking to one another in forum postings on hvac-talk. I found a video comparing the exact furnace I was considering with another brand that had been recommended to me. I even found a site that compared furnace loudness across a dozen or so brands. I was a knowledgeable consumer going in.

Steve Thomas from Buttons was a terrific on sales. He gave me as much time and info as I requested. He wanted me to have everything I needed to make a decision I’d be happy about. He even called in a specialist for a second sales/info call when an ancient chimney forced a change of plans. There was no pushiness and Steve was always a call away if I had further questions.

The office staff were also great (hi Lidy) and helped me out with a few paperworky things along the way.

For the install Button’s sent out a three man team. Tod and his team worked extremely hard on this big job and did a very professional install. They answered all my questions on the day, made helpful suggestions about where to locate my air conditioner and programmed my new thermostat while walking me through it. The new furnace has been working great and we’ve all really noticed the much more even heat throughout the house. Kudos.

    Room for Improvement:
Based on my experience I have a few minor suggestions for improvement:

Call ahead the day before install. My install was booked a month ahead of time. We knew what day they were coming but didn’t have anymore details. It would have been helpful to get a call the day before saying when the team was arriving. I wanted to go over things with the install team and didn’t know whether they were going to arrive and get going at 8am, 9am or when. I ended up calling that morning at 9:15 to make sure I had the right date. The office tracked down the team by cell and confirmed they were on the way. It shouldn’t really be the client calling the firm in situations like this.

Big jobs can be too big. My job was massive. Even for a three man crew. I went into work late and got home and the team was still working on getting everything in. The job was complicated by an old furnace that proved very hard to get out. This big of a job meant there were a few tiny cleanups missed (thermostat drillings, basement venting drillings) and part of the job (air con hookup) was deferred. I’d recommend next time breaking the job up and doing it over two visits. Perhaps not as economical as getting it all done in one day but would provide more contingency time.

Internal communication – Buttons was great on preplanning duct design and building and had lots of measurements and pictures to go by but a couple of sales requests were missed. The team didn’t bring coolant for the air conditioning unit and there wasn’t enough room to haul everything away at the end of the job. Both issues were resolved quickly and without any problems but I would have preferred for the team to be fully prepped with everything they needed when they arrived.

Things I learned: Equipment wise I’d do more research on getting a pad to go under my furnace. The basement in my 110 year old house isn’t always waterproof and my spanking new furnace is sitting directly on the floor. It’s not going to rust for a long time I hope but I’d feel better if I had thought to arrange for a pad for it to sit on. The other small equipment comment I’ll make is that I went for a pulse format humidifier rather than a continual stream model in an effort to conserve water. Again my old house’s plumbing is not well insulated and so I can detect it pulsing water periodically from other spots in the house. Not a big deal but I’d probably go for the continuous model next time.

Overall – If I could give these guys an 11 I would. They are a fantastic company to deal with. I wish all companies had this much integrity and were this classy to work with. Well done to the whole team.

furnace installation We recently had a high efficiency furnace installed in our home and are very impressed with the service from Button's. From the helpful and knowlegable salesman Rick Lawson to Todd and his crew Jeramy and Jonathon everyone went above and beyond to provide the best service possible.
Every aspect of the new equipment was explained by both the salesperson and the installers and the professionalism of all four of these men was outstanding. Every appointment was on time and every phome call returned promptly which did not happen with other companys we dealt with when we were considering this purchase.
Anyone in the market for this service can not go wrong with Button's.

    Button's was great

    Frances in Toronto

Installation of high efficiency furnace and new hot water tank We purchased a new high efficiency furnace from Button's in December 2009. Pete arrived on time for the estimate and returned all of our phone calls when we had questions later. He helped to arrange for duct cleaning and the home energy audit prior to furnace installation. Todd & crew arrived promptly and worked all day to ensure a timely installation. He gave us an orientation to the new equipment, took the time to answer all of our questions and ensured the house was clean before leaving. Thank you Button's for a job well done!

    Excellent Service from Button's Heating

    Larry in Unionville

New High Efficiency furnace My old furnace was ready to bite the dust, so I did some shopping for a new one that would take advantage of the government rebate/tax credit programs. Steve Thomas, Button's sales rep. was very knowledgeable and helpful, and gave us a great deal of confidence in his company. He took care of all the paperwork and arranged the heat audit for us. And the installed price of our new Trane high efficiency was definitely right compared with the competition.

The installation crew, Todd, Jer and Jon arrived right on time, put down protective carpeting and got right to work. The intallation went smoothly and efficiently, and when they were finished, everything was cleaned up perfectly. All the features of the new programmable thermostat and the furnace itself were patiently explained, once more proving to me that I had made the right choice with Button's Heating.

I would certainly recommend this very professional outfit to anyone wishing to upgrade their household heating/cooling.

Button's Heating was Professional and thorough

    Marc - Whitby

New Furnace On November 11, 2009 I had Button's Heating install a new high efficiency Trane Furnace.
My dealings with Gord Armstrong in sales was a positive one. He was punctual for his appointments, and took the time to go over all details of the product, and cost involved.
I was equally impressed with installation team. Michael Button and two other individuals showed up a the agreed upon time. They layed down a runner, so not to dirty my carpet. The disruption, for such a big job, was minimal. Michael took the time to go over the furnace and the new programmable thermostate with me. Upon leaving, they left no mess, and the old furnace was promptly picked up. In all, the new system was installed in about 5 hours, which is excellent.
My thanks to the Button's team for a job well done.
