    Basement drywall

Kevin and his team did the drywall for our DIY basement renovation. He has so many amazing design suggestions, was enthusiastic about and respectful of our goals, and made quick work of the project. Incredible value and exceptional workmanship. Would recommend to anyone.

    A proper craftsman

Showed up on time to quote a small but complex job to repair a mess of broken plaster and drywall in a 100 year old house. Returned the very next morn with another pro and did exactly what they promised. Professional, punctual expert craftsmen who cleaned the place up real good after they were done. What more could you ask for?

Living Room Drywall Taping and Plastering Project

Kevin and his team were professional, punctual, pleasant and helpful — all at a reasonable cost! They offered some helpful tips for doing crown molding and painting for after they left.

    Stucco removal

Well it was about 7 years ago when my mother, sister and I called Kevin to get a quote to remove the stucco from our ceilings prior to selling our house. This company was excellent and priced well. In fact 7 years later I took it upon myself to write this review. This company stood out to me.

    Extensive Renovation and Plastering

After completing a 2-floor gut and renovation project in our home, we highly recommend Kevin and his team. At the outset, the walls and ceilings in our home were covered with a very dated popcorn stucco, which they expertly smoothed over for a more contemporary look. Kevin also went over and above in offering interesting and useful design recommendations, as well as very nice finishing touches as we also removed a couple of walls, moved appliances around and addressed heating deficiencies. In addition, we found that Kevin was available when we needed to speak with him, and was very pleasant to deal with. He also brought in great tradespeople who did quality work at reasonable rates. The result is a ‘new home’ with an entirely different feel, which we are enjoying very much! Thanks Kevin!

Popcorn ceiling removal in three days

We moved into a condo, having only a three-day gap in between taking possession of the unit and moving in, and we wanted to remove the popcorn ceiling in the common areas. Understanding the extremely tight deadline, Kevin and his team were fantastic to work with! First, Kevin suggested a very good colour for the ceiling paint. Second, this very short timeline left no room for errors or delays, and in this three-day period they were able to completely finish the work, including removing the popcorn ceiling, plastering and the painting, and then cleanup. We were able to move in on schedule and the condo looks so much better. The ceilings feel like they are a foot higher. Thanks Kevin!

Living room and dining room plastering

My living room plaster ceiling in my old twenties home needed some serious repairs after rainwater had seeped in between the first and second floors. Furthermore, in some places the plaster walls sagged. Another contractor had told me that the only way to repair the damage was to remove all of the plaster and replace with drywall. No thanks, I wanted a plasterer! When Kevin came to give me an estimate, he immediately saw that the plaster could be repaired, and he suggested improving the overall look of my living room and dining room by smoothing out the various textures that had been applied to the ceilings over the years. After the plastering repairs, Kevin’s crew then meticulously painted the LR and DR, trim and radiators for a perfect finish. Kevin kept me in the loop as the work progressed, and the workmen kept the worksite as clean as possible when doing such dusty work. I highly recommend Kevin and his team for great ideas and an excellent job. Thanks, Kevin and crew!

    Removal of Popcorn Ceiling

I would highly recommend Kevin Buckner (Buckner Plastering) as our experience was awesome. My husband and I purchased a condo and needed someone within a short period of time to come in and remove the popcorn ceiling. I got some quotes which were extremely expensive. A friend of mine who didn't use Kevin had a lot of problems with popcorn removal and her painter said she should have used Kevin who is the best in the business, so based on that I used him. He did not disappoint. He accommodated our timelines, which were extremely tight, started on the Saturday as we requested, and added great value by making great suggestions ( he clearly has a design background). We added more to the job which included all new pot lights (which he helped us position) and removal of mirrors on walls and wall repairs. And despite all that he finished on time . We couldn't have done this without him and now have a beautiful ceiling. He is a pleasure to work with. A has a very positive "can do" attitude.

    Drywall and Taping

Overall, my experience with Kevin was frustrating. His communications, response times, and professionalism are deplorable. Because Kevin lived in the neighbourhood, I thought I would give his company a chance to square off three rounded support pillars on our main floor. Initially I wanted him to do all walls but, after 3 attempts to call him over a two week period without any returned calls, I found a fantastic taper to do the work instead. Finally, after I secured a taper to do the work, Kevin decides to show up on my door and asks if he can "keep my taper honest" with an estimate on how much the work should cost. He spent approximately 30 minutes in our house and spent 75% of that time commenting on our one pillar in the kitchen and how we should get rid of it. It was as though he was obsessed with this pillar. Against better judgement, I decided to give him the job to square off the pillars. The job was done okay though one of the pillars curves slightly where it should be straight. Furthermore, Kevin was discussing our conversations with our painter which I found incredibly unprofessional. After the job was done - and payment was made (I slipped the money through his mail slot as requested) - I asked Kevin to give me a call for some feedback on the job. That was two weeks ago and I still haven't heard back. There are other reasons that I'm disappointed with his work but I won't go into it here. The work was okay but, given all of the other factors, I would not hire his company again.

Plaster repair after Electrical plus new Kitchen Drywall

After having all the electrical re-wired in our home, we had a ton of holes to be patched everywhere! It was overwhelming to see them all and think of how much work was ahead! We also were in the middle of a kitchen renovation that required all new drywall so we were pretty eager to get started. When Kevin came through our place, it no longer felt like such a big deal as he'd done this so many times before. We were on a pretty tight timeline, so when Kevin said his team could start in a couple of days we were ecstatic. They did a fantastic job, finished when expected and his price was on par with other contractors had quotes from. It was a relief knowing that our house was in experienced hands. He was a pleasure to work with, easy to get a hold of, and did a great job. Thanks for your help Kevin and team!
